Last week Exotrail was in Tokyo, Japan 🇯🇵 to attend two big international space events. The week kicked off with SPACETIDE Foundation, and our Chief Commercial Officer, Sébastien Duménil, seized the opportunity to strengthen the bonds with our Japanese and other APAC partners. Exotrail also sponsored the 6th Summit for Space Sustainability, co-hosted by Secure World Foundation and the National Space Policy Secretariat, Cabinet Office, Japan - The Government of Japan. Our Chief of staff to the CEO, Maxime Jambon, brought the experience of a neo-space services provider to a roundtable on Active Debris Removal (#ADR), drawing parallels with the market of in-orbit delivery. The ADR roundtable was animated by Ian Christensen, and gave us the opportunity to pragmatically discuss the main threats in orbit and how to collectively overcome them. We insisted on the need for political momentum and the synergies between all In Orbit Services, if we want to bring cost efficient and relevant services addressing the next in-orbit challenges. With Exotrail, the French delegation stated its commitment to space sustainability, with CNES Vice-Director orbital systems and applications, Laurent Francillout, alongside Eutelsat OneWeb Head of Regulatory and Policy, Chehineze BOUAFIA - whose company just made it to platinum ranking by in the Space Sustainability Rating 👏

Great news from Lisbon, Portugal! A strong group of International Space University alumni is currently attending the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA)/Agência Espacial Portuguesa | Portugal Space Management and Sustainability of Outer Space Activities Conference. Sustainability in space is a crucial topic that requires a global effort. It is with the ISU spirit of the 3i's (international, intercultural and interdisciplinary) that we contribute to this important topic. SGAC - SINC-2024 I had the pleasure of attending the Space for Island Nations Conference and participating in the 10th AP- SGW. It was my greatest pleasure to meet and work closely with Kaylee Li, Mudra Bansod, Khushi Shah, Viktor Loh, Kristine Jane Atienza, Aya Hesham, Aileen Wee,Chetan Shiraguppi... Here are my takeouts: * Space is not an isolated frontier - rather, it constitutes a multifaceted and interconnected industry with profound implications for our everyday existence on Earth. *In the 20th century, space exploration predominantly revolved around two superpowers, namely the United States and the Soviet Union, both possessing advanced technology and the capacity for outer space exploration. However, the landscape of the space industry has evolved considerably, witnessing the emergence of new players such as Europe, China, India, Israel, Australia, and Japan, each making significant strides in space exploration and technology development. As the space industry expands, there is a growing aspiration among nations of the global south to transition from being mere consumers to becoming active contributors as valuable technology producers within the aerospace sector. Many emerging countries are actively pursuing the goal of space exploration and its sustainable utilization, reflecting a global trend toward space engagement and innovation. Within this context, several nations have embarked on collaborations with other countries to develop their own space technology and industry. Space technology and Science at the center of the courtesy visit of the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Italy, H.E. Jan Kohonut, at Agenzia Spaziale Italiana. The meeting was an opportunity to discuss about different areas of collaboration. The dialogue between the two countries highlighted the importance of a deep understanding, following the already signed Declaration of Intent and the last meeting between the two Heads of Agency. These developments will made possible to strengthen the level of collaboration between #Italy and the #CzechRepublic, with a focus on the possibility to support the level of cooperation among the industrial communities, thus positioning both countries as key players in the European space landscape

Like many kids, there was always a part of me overly impressed with space. Seeing Australia's space industry booming in the last 5-10 years has been inspiring and satisfying to watch - it's hard not to want to get involved! So, I'm pretty excited to have been picked to join the Astra Program for 2024. The Astra Program, created by the Australian Youth Aerospace Association (AYAA), presents three key topics around Australia’s space industry each year, and assembles a team to develop a whitepaper for each topic to present to key stakeholders in the sector. Our topic: Ensuring the Resilience of Australia's Critical Space Infrastructure Space has become very busy, and as many countries put assets into space, it is critical for Australia to develop robust sovereign capabilities. Australia only accounts for around 1% of global space spending, but close to 20% of all space research. We also have geography in our favour, with both equatorial and polar launch sites available. These elements mean we are primed to create resilient space infrastructure for security, communications, exploration and more, making this an exciting topic to research.
