📢The Corporate Transparency Act Starts on January 1, 2024 📅 We are getting lots of Corporate Transparency Act questions. We want to keep you informed about significant regulatory changes that may impact your small business. The Corporate Transparency Act is set to take effect on January 1, 2024, and we're here to guide you through the compliance process. 📜💼 The companies required to report are called reporting companies. There are two types of reporting companies: 1. Domestic reporting companies are corporations, limited liability companies, and any other entities created by the filing of a document with a secretary of state or any similar office in the United States. 2. Foreign reporting companies are entities (including corporations and limited liability companies) formed under the law of a foreign country that have registered to do business in the United States by the filing of a document with a secretary of state or any similar office. Note: There are 23 types of entities that are exempt from the reporting requirements Carefully review the qualifying criteria before concluding that your company is exempt. While the Corporate Transparency Act is new and has scary penalties ($500 a day), it's essential to understand its implications for your business. This legislation requires certain companies to report their beneficial ownership information, a step aimed at promoting transparency and combating financial crimes. 💰 🚨 Compliance Deadlines: If your company is formed after January 1, 2024: You will have 90 days from the date of formation to report beneficial ownership information. If your company was formed before December 31, 2023: You have until January 1, 2025, to comply with the new reporting requirements.
