Deadline Hollywood has the scoop! The Harlem Globetrotters are coming to aspireTV with the all-new series Harlem Globetrotters: Secrets of the City. From Deadline: AspireTV and producer, Ri-Karlo Handy of Sunwise Media, will develop and produce new original programming as the network continues to expand the AspireTV Studios slate this year. The first series to be greenlit under this agreement is Harlem Globetrotters: Secrets of the City, a travel series that follows the Harlem Globetrotters as they span the globe on their 2024 world tour. AspireTV has ordered eight 30-minute episodes.

Despite big Emmy wins for Shōgun and The Bear, they may not signal the direction of future TV programming. Hollywood continues to prioritize broad appeal in their programming over risk-taking and critical acclaim. What this means for audiences: Viewers may see fewer innovative and critically acclaimed programming as Hollywood looks for more conventional programming, according to The Ankler's Elaine Low. Studios are shifting their production towards safer content that appeals to broader audiences. What about TV show programming? Hollywood continues to see a strong preferences for conventional "hard funny" half-hour comedies and modern dramas. That's despite big wins for Shōgun at this year's Emmy Awards. Chapter 2 Blu-ray Episode 2 CPS for Blu-ray (4) Needless to say, BD-3C visited the studios/MPAA multiple times even to update what was agreed in 2003. Having Disney and Fox to serve for the BDA Board of Directors (to which Warner was added in October, 2005) had great weight not only with the BDA but also with MPAA. When BD-3C met with MPAA on February 22, 2005, it seemed apparent that speaking for one voice was getting much harder in Hollywood community, therefore the role of MPAA was somehow limited to facilitate interaction in the community. Nevertheless, there was one vital question unanimously shared. That was, if target schedule of the BDA, even if feasible, was risk free from potential backlash onward regardless of any DRMs to be adopted. This was also the very basic but the most imperative question for the BDA. BD-3C, however, did not have an option to freeze preparation of the CPSAs for BD format specifications in absence of a decision and instruction by the BDA Board of Directors. Accordingly, draft CPSAs were delivered to studios/MPAA as promised in February. After exchange of comments and tele conference in April, however, scheduled meeting in June was cancelled for a variety of reasons, which included prioritization of reaching a consensus with studio Board of Directors of the BDA. Concurrently, each new DRM was under development, which had certain impact on position of major BDA members. While the BDA announced that the format specifications complete for BD-ROM ver.1.0, BD-R ver.1.0 and BD-RE 2.0.on January 5, 2006, license of the FLLA for BD-ROM ver.1.0 finally started on February 3, 2006, shortly after the FLLAs for BD-RE ver.2.0 and BD-R ver.1.0 became available. Though the CPA for the FLLAs followed, it was until June in the same year when the FLLA for BD-ROM 2.0 became available by updating all the DRMs to be mandated. As previously noted, the first Blu-ray Disc titles were released right after that. CPS for various BD format specifications was not on the list of DRMs to be mandated by the FLLAs. Nevertheless, manufacturers of legacy BD-RE ver.1.0 products continued to implement CPS for BD-RE ver.1.0 on their succeeding Blu-ray products to ensure backward compatibility or to incorporate capability to playback content recorded on BD-RE ver.1.0 Blu-ray Disc media. As such, CPS for BD-RE ver.1.0 lived quite long. Ultimately, it fulfilled its role and the CPSA was terminated in June 2015.
