Low arousal approaches and PBS - what's the difference? It's not about creating binary questions, but rather enhancing crisis management. As a low arousal practitioner, I believe that our stress reduction and human rights based approach can enhance PBS practice. When working directly with a person, it's important to be trauma-informed in your practice and lead by example. The key to any form of behaviour change is to develop relationships based on trust and mutual respect. This starts for me with the elimination of restraint and other restrictive practices and creating a true sense of safety for all.
