Great to catch up with Vijay Parikh and the team at Harold Benjamin yesterday providing an overview on the Legal Indemnity market. The topics included: Certificate of Title top up: Providing cover on a transaction where the asset value is higher than the Professional Indemnity Limit. Essentially, this cover mirrors the statements provided in the certificate of title. Portfolio / Limited due diligence: Useful when a client is purchasing or refinancing several properties and due diligence is time or cost prohibitive. An example given is that DD was only carried out a couple of years previously and no material circumstances have changed. Agreed Conduct: The example given was allowing engagement with benefiting parties on Restrictive Covenants to seek a deed of release.
