Last week, ASE #Malaysia had the privilege of hosting a distinguished group of C-suite executives from major government linked investment companies (GLICs) and officials from Malaysia’s key government agencies. The group, led by YB Chin Tong Liew, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), was part of a semiconductor study tour organized by Khazanah Nasional Berhad and REFSA - Research for Social Advancement. It was a great opportunity for us to provide the participants an overview of ASE Global’s role in the global semiconductor industry, our leadership in IC #packaging, and significant developments in #Penang over the past 3 decades and our expansion blueprints. The participants went on a brief tour of our CMOS Image Sensor (CIS) production line where they were also given a preview of our future plans for a fully automated, #AI-driven wire bond line. As Malaysia continues to elevate its role in the global semiconductor supply chain, this visit provided invaluable insights to the GLICs representatives, fostering greater engagement and dialogue between both sectors. ASE remains deeply committed to supporting the government in advancing Malaysia’s position in the value chain, enhancing the existing ecosystem and creating new job opportunities. Discussions and exchange of ideas continued to flow amongst the participants and ASE executives throughout lunch time. To conclude the visit, our site GM He Ooi presented a token of appreciation to Deputy Minister YB Chin Tong Liew. We thank everyone involved in making this visit a success, and we look forward to strengthening our collaboration to advance Malaysia's semiconductor industry! 🤝✨ Participating companies and government agencies include Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pekerja KWSP (EPF), Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (KWAP), Permodalan Nasional Berhad, PETROLIAM NASIONAL BERHAD (PETRONAS), LEMBAGA TABUNG ANGKATAN TENTERA, Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) and Ministry of Finance Malaysia
