Emerging #climate threats are expected to make #Nordic forests, #ecosystem services, and societies more sensitive to fires. This means that society’s preparedness for forest #fires within civil contingencies, community planning, and #forest management needs to continue to develop. Protecting Our Coastal Cities Nearly half of the world's population lives within 100km of a coastline. These #coastalcities are vital economic and cultural hubs, but they're also increasingly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. Rising sea levels, extreme weather events, and the urban heat island effect threaten millions of lives and livelihoods. It's time to take action! The Ormoc City Urban Waterscape project is a shining example of how we can build climate resilience in coastal cities. By implementing nature-based solutions and sustainable urban design, we can mitigate the effects of storm surges, flooding, and urban heat.
