Inspiring growth minded business people to work together and support each other's success through effective in person and online networking ** Business Person of the Year Finalist **
I often get asked if joining a #networking group is worth it... So I wrote a #blog about it (which incidentally is ranking as one of the top answers to the question on Google!) 😎 If you're considering joining a group, or want to know what you should be getting out of committing to a regular networking meeting, then have a read. The important point is to find the group that works for YOU. Not all of them will and you might disagree with people you know about what makes a perfect networking group. We're all different and thankfully there's plenty of options to choose from! 😍 https://lnkd.in/eNvXCT57 #wisdomwednesday #workingtogether

These are my top 5 Essential virtual networking tips The world is becoming a global village, and it's essential to learn how to network effectively online. Here are five tips to help you build meaningful virtual connections: 1. Engage Before Messaging: Don't just jump into a connection's DM with a "hello" or "hi" without any context. Register your presence by commenting on their posts, reposting, or sharing their content. This establishes familiarity and shows genuine interest. 2. Personalize Your Messages: When you finally reach out, make sure your messages are personalized. Reference a recent post or achievement of theirs. This demonstrates that you’re not just sending a generic message but are genuinely interested in their work. 3. Utilize LinkedIn Introductions: If you have a mutual connection, ask for an introduction. This warm approach can significantly increase your chances of a positive response and helps establish trust. 4. Be Clear and Concise: When you send emails or direct messages, be clear about your intentions. Whether it's seeking advice, collaboration, or networking, being concise and to the point shows respect for their time. 5. Follow Up and Stay Engaged: After making a connection, follow up periodically to maintain the relationship. Share relevant articles, congratulate them on their achievements, or simply check in. Consistent engagement keeps you on their radar and strengthens your professional relationship. Implement these strategies to enhance your virtual networking efforts and create lasting professional connections. Why Networking in a Virtual World Feels Different—and How to Excel In my early career, networking was all about handshakes and coffee meetings. Now, it’s LinkedIn messages, virtual coffee chats, and Zoom calls. It feels different, but the essence of building genuine connections hasn’t changed. The shift to virtual networking can seem daunting—without the in-person cues, it’s easy to feel disconnected. But the key is to approach it with the same authenticity. Start by reaching out with a personalized message, show genuine interest, and follow up with value, not just requests. Virtual networking offers unique opportunities, like connecting across time zones or attending global events from your living room. The trick is to be proactive, stay consistent, and keep the conversation going, even if it's just a quick comment on a post. How have you adapted your networking style in this virtual world? What’s been your biggest challenge? Share your experiences below! 👇 #VirtualNetworking #CareerGrowth #NetworkingTips #BuildConnections

Virtual Networking - how are you? We're all doing a lot more virtual networking these days. Whether you're working remotely, attending virtual events, or just connecting online, building a professional network in the digital world is easier then ever. But also still a little daunting.😅 Why is that? We are social animals by nature and despite years of being online to a huge degree, there is still feels like a little bit of a disconnect. Do you agree? So let's dive in and point out some of the main ways you can really connect online without feeling like a fake or a socially awkward teenager again.😅 ✨Be Yourself! Yes, it's that simple! Authenticity is key, even in the digital realm. So don't be afraid to let your personality shine through. Share your passions, experiences, and quirky interests - you never know who might resonate with your vibe! ✨Engage, Engage, Engage! Don't be a wallflower in the virtual room! Jump into conversations, ask questions, and show genuine interest in what others have to say. Remember, networking is a two-way street, so be sure to give as much as you get. ✨Show Some Love! If someone shares a great post, lands an exciting opportunity, or just brightens your day with a funny meme, show them some love! A simple like, comment, or share can go a long way in building relationships and strengthening your connections. ✨Keep It Casual! No need to whip out the business jargon and elevator pitches every time you connect with someone. Keep your interactions light, friendly, and - dare I say it - fun! After all, networking is about building relationships, not just exchanging business cards. ✨Follow Up! Don't let those virtual connections fizzle out! After a great chat or exchange, be sure to follow up with a quick message or email to keep the conversation going. Who knows where it might lead? ✨Remember, building your network is all about creating genuine connections, so relax, be yourself, and don't overthink it. Introduce yourself in the comments. We are all connected anyway so let's finally get to know each other. #virtualnetworking #remoteconnections #digitalnetworking #onlinenetworking

Networking is always talked about, but people often have different definitions of what "networking" actually means... Does it mean... 🤝 You scratch my back, and I'll scratch yours 🤝 Small talk over cocktails 🤝 Having a coffee with your mom's neighbor's friend's daughter who is "considering getting into Marketing" 🤝 Hounding executives you want to connect with so they can hire you 🤝 Recommending total strangers to jobs because they're "in your network" I feel like those are the things we've been told networking is... But, never forget, that genuine human connection always, ALWAYS wins. When you go into a networking conversation, stop trying to "get something out of it." Go in with the goal of getting to know the other person and have an engaging chat. I promise, you'll get something out of that. Shout out to a few of the many people I've had rewarding conversations with lately, including Lauren Christiansen, Talya Heller G. 💡, and Elissa Jane Mastel There are dozens more, and I simply can't name them all 🙏 As Elissa and I discussed in our conversation, the more you try to put good out into the world, the better. It'll come back. ✨ What does "networking" mean to you?? #networking #buildingyournetwork #marketingnetwork #consulting #consultant #marketingconsultant #referrals

Master E-networking & boost B2B Sales | Product Marketing & Going-to-Market for B2B tech | Helping founders sell more at trade shows and events | LinkedIn Trainer & Top Voice
>>>Networking is one of the most effective skills for building social capital and getting more opportunities, clients, or partners. But there’s a problem: I see people network for the sake of networking without any strategy. This can cause that founders, career shifters, or creators: • Give up too quickly. • Don’t see any results. • Sell in a networking situation. • Don’t give anything to their network. • Think that networking does not work. I’ve lived this firsthand: • I didn’t follow up. • I was meeting for virtual coffees to chit-chat. • I went to networking events without clear objectives and without asking. Here’s how to solve that: 1. Learn how to network strategically. 2. Networking is a soft skill - you can master it! 3. Start prospecting through your network not vice versa. 4. Polish your online professional identity and start with e-networking. 5. Perfect your introduction and ask when going for a virtual or in-person event. How's your networking? Does it work? Why? Why not? #networking #enetworking #connector #LinkedIntips Source: Connector Quiz is by Michelle Tillis Lederman, the author of The Connector's Advantage ↓ [The link is in the comments]
