I am sure you have especially if you are a professional or if you are in the academia. If you have not heard of this term before then here is a simple explanation.👇🏻 As a Librarian and information scientist, I was taught that implicit knowledge refers to knowledge you acquire via incidental activities or experiences. While explicit knowledge refers to knowledge that can be articulated. It has been written down and can be shared from one person to another. Now, a lot of professionals have implicit knowledge which is knowledge they have gathered after working for years in various sector. They have experiences that a lot of persons don’t have in their industry and the younger generation could learn and gain from. This type of knowledge is the type of knowledge only interns, volunteers or staff of a company can only access whilst the professional is present but how about this👇🏻 🎤How about professionals begin to document their experiences for all to read and learn? The impact level of professionals will be enormous. This is why it is important for professionals to write a book. Don’t write a book because you want to make profit alone. Write a book because you want to preserve the knowledge you have acquired and pass it on to your younger generation in your industry. I have just finished reading The Friction Project for a second time. Again, I can relate to so much of what is discussed in this book. This should be required reading for all leaders in healthcare. We need to become better "friction fixers"—our teams, our learners and our patients will be better served. Key takeaways for me: 1. Leaders are trustees of others' time: we need to constantly look for and remove those obstacles take up time and keep us (and our teams) from doing our best work. 2. Subtract rather than add: when faced with solving an issue, we default to adding something, rather than taking away something. We then waste time doing outdated, useless activities. 3. Know when to add "good friction": in the relentless pace of getting things done, there are times when we need to slow down and proceed carefully (thinking fast vs thinking slow). Sometimes we need "greasers" (to get things done quickly) and sometimes we need "gunkers" (to stop and think). Having had the privilege to listen to Bob Sutton talk about this book, I could hear his voice come off the page! This is not only an insightful read, but a fun one.

The combination of knowledge & action has the potential to: ↳ Create change ↳ Drive innovation ↳ Propel us forward You only retain 10% of what you read after a 24 hours. You'll retain 75% of your knowledge by doing. & 90% by teaching others. Consider this: You can have all the knowledge about nutrition in the world, but until you start eating healthy, that knowledge is of no use. Similarly, you might know everything there is about starting a business, but unless you take the plunge and start one, your knowledge is wasted. So, don't just accumulate information, act on it. Make your knowledge count.

Law 14 - Friction can create value In chapter 14 of his book, Steven Bartlett dives into the idea that sometimes, by making an experience worse; makes your customers want your products more. For example, energy drinks taste like medicine, but people buy them because they assume their chemicals are powerful. This is the case because humans are irrational in their decision-making. The product you create can be successful even if it doesn’t make sense.
