Army leadership at a round table: Hey guys we should really think how we can improve the three tenants of fitness: Physical/Mental/Spiritual. 1. Maybe we can stablish a 24hr gym access on every military installation. Monthly gym vouchers for those not near a military installation i.e. Recruiters, Nat. Guard, Reserves. 2. An incentive/reward program for fitness achievements such as high fitness scores, weight loss goals, etc. You know what Soldiers love the most? (Time off & Money) 3. We could do a study on the food we are serving at the Chow Halls. Let’s figure out why Service members rather eat out than eat at our facilities. 4. We need to compare notes with our sister services and find out what has work for them and what has not? I’m pretty sure every branch has spent millions of dollars on this type of research, and we could share the information based on lessons learn. The SOF community has been doing this type of research for years and they are some of the most elite warrior athletes in the world. Let’s reach out…. Army leadership: Guys, all those are great but…. You know what. I got it… A new PT Uniform…that’s what we need. ‘If we’re going to be fit, then we’re also going to look good’ New generation of leaders, same old concepts and mentality. Just re-brand the old ideas in a new Power-Point… Stick to basics. Good order and discipline. Get rid of death weight (career Officers & NCO’s just coasting until retirement) Promote talent, reward competence and effectiveness. Reward hard work, discipline, and those who go the extra mile… Figure out how to fix the recruiting of quality and qualified people. Invest in your junior Soldiers early on so they don’t leave… Great talent leaves our ranks daily because lack of opportunities, family stability, and disparity in pay between the Civ population and the Mil… Invest in engraining patriotism back in our communities…
Among a host of initiatives to strengthen the NCO corps, the Army is redesigning its physical training uniform, the service’s senior enlisted leader announced Oct. 15 during the Association of the U.S. Army’s 2024 Annual Meeting and Exposition. “It’s going to look a little different than what we’ve done in the past. We’re not going to get locked into the same T-shirt,” Sgt. Maj. of the Army Michael Weimer said, adding that the current uniform “doesn’t represent who we are as warfighters.” #ReadMore: https://loom.ly/C9UdbDM #AUSAorg #AUSA #USArmy #AUSA2024

Part of the research I am conducting for my book on the 8th Infantry Regiment of the Illinois National Guard (370th Infantry Regiment) is on the history of the National Guard. This part of the research has been fascinating. From learning about the first three regiments formed during the colonial period to the various Militia and National Defense Acts that helped to shape the Guard into what it is today, it has truly been eye opening. If I may say so myself, it is one of the most interesting chapters in the book.

Answering this mornings post from our Regimental Chief Warrant Officer (RCWO) CW5 Willie Gadsden Jr, LSSMBB As we start this new week, let’s focus on what we can achieve together. Each of us brings unique strengths and skills that, when combined, make us unstoppable. Remember, every goal we set isn’t just an individual milestone; it’s part of the greater success we’re all working towards. Let’s approach this week with dedication, resilience, and a sense of unity. Lift each other up, celebrate the small wins, and don’t hesitate to lean on one another when challenges arise. The road ahead may have obstacles, but together, there’s nothing we can’t accomplish. How did I get after this? While deployed to Europe supporting our European Allies and Partners is a benefit I get to see very closely. I had a great conversation with Polish Lieutenant on how partners within the Polish Div share understanding over a map and the benefit of having both digital and physical maps. 1st Cavalry Division, U.S. Army US Army Corps of Engineers 36th Engineer Brigade, U.S. Army #bustingcapsandmakingmaps #firsttoknowwithmaps #essayons #firstteam

“Driving the growth is the successful Future Soldier Prep Course, which was created at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, in August 2022 as a new way to bolster enlistments. That program gives lower-performing recruits up to 90 days of academic or fitness instruction to help them meet military standards and move on to basic training.” The U.S. Army is now about 30% diverse; non-white male. The percetange of diverse recruits successfully graduating from the Future Soldiers Prep Course is about double that - 60%. While only about 30% of all recruits will come from this training it will significantly increase the diversity of the U.S. Army. And, since changes to VA benifts in 2010 that pays for 100% of the costs for a Vet’s college education, 80% of those enlistees leaving the service has used them to get a college education. The U.S. military is evolving its self and changing U.S. Society.

The Final Formation is an event organized by the Florida Army National Guard for soldiers nearing their Expiration Term of Service (ETS). This event offers a platform for reenlistment with exceptional benefits. Eligible soldiers could receive bonuses, although it’s important to note that these bonuses are specific to certain Military Occupational Specialties (MOS). Please consult your Readiness NCO to see if you qualify. Additionally, the event provides opportunities to explore new units and MOSs. It’s important to understand that attending the Final Formation does not guarantee these opportunities, but it is highly encouraged to attend. Attending can help you seek out any potential opportunities that could allow you to continue serving the great state of Florida. Furthermore, it’s possible to address these incentives directly at your unit before attending the Final Formation. We strongly encourage you to collaborate with your Readiness NCO in advance to see how they can assist you. #nationalguard #armynationalguard #usmilitary

Article doesn’t read well for current recruitment processes. Should the MOD take back control of the recruitment process?
Tens of thousands of youngsters are withdrawing their applications to serve in the armed forces every year after waiting months to join, it can be revealed. Fewer than one in ten of the 137,000 people who applied to join the army, navy and RAF last year ended up serving, with nearly 74,000 potential recruits — 54% — giving up on the process altogether. The problem was worse in the army, with 70% of potential recruits pulling out before they were through the doors

***OPERATION SAFE GATE BEGINS TODAY*** TODAY, Fort Eisenhower will limit access to the installation through Gate 1 to DoD ID cardholders only, on weekdays from 5 to 9 a.m. This initiative follows through on our commitment to put ‘People First,’ by improving quality of life for our Fort Eisenhower workforce and the CSRA community by reducing congestion at intersections leading to Gate 1 during peak morning hours. Over 5,000 vehicles use Gate 1 for entry each weekday during peak hours, leading to traffic backups. Additionally, turnarounds, accidents, and emergency incidents increase in severity during this time, and congestion routinely causes Fort Eisenhower employees to be late and medical appointments to be delayed. #OperationSafeGate #PeopleFirst #MainGateIsGreat #SafeDriving #FortEisenhower #VictoryStartsHere #ArmyLife #CyberForge Paul Stanton | US Army | US Army TRADOC | U.S. Army Combined Arms Center | U.S. Army Signal School | U.S. Army Cyber Command | CSRA Alliance for Fort Eisenhower

"CSM Michael Dills, the new Command Sergeant Major of U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command, sees his role as setting up his commanders for success, which he defines as ensuring that the people under the Commander are likewise set up for success. And a key to ensuring that people are sufficiently equipped and trained, Dills believes, is developing the critical thinking skills that allow a person to understand what resources need to be put in place and what steps need to be taken in advance to make that possible."
