Here’s how you can restore your pan to its gleaming glory: Let it cool down: Avoid plunging a hot pan into cold water, as this can cause warping. Let it cool completely before attempting any cleaning. Baking soda to the rescue: Sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda on the burnt area and cover it with a thin layer of water. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Scrub gently: Using a non-abrasive sponge or dishcloth, gently scrub the burnt area in circular motions. The baking soda paste should help loosen the grime. Vinegar power: For particularly stubborn burns. Add a bit of vinegar to the baking soda paste and let it sit for a few minutes before scrubbing. Want to learn more? 2 essential tips for a tall, tall loaf with a light and golden crust: 1. Stitch the loaf after shaping: Stitching involves pinching the dough together after shaping, which creates tension on the surface. This tension helps the dough rise evenly and higher during baking. 2. Add ice cubes to the Dutch oven: For the first 15 minutes of baking, place a few ice cubes into the Dutch oven. The steam generated helps boost the loaf’s rise and gives it a beautiful, crispy crust. Get ready for that towering loaf!
