I am happy to share that our physics education-focused article was recently published in the American Journal of Physics. During my postdoctoral stay (2019-2022) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, we have developed several numerical simulation projects in micromagnetics as part of a class on magnetic materials and applications. I personally believe that computational literacy is a skill that is becoming increasingly important for students in all STEM fields, as it is highly relevant for their future careers both in industry and academia. I’m thrilled to share my latest work on applying Control Theory to dynamic systems, specifically focusing on spin systems. This research aims to prototype a software that demonstrates the potential and implications of Control Theory in managing and optimizing the dynamic behavior of complex quantum systems with more than three spins. Key objectives: 🔹 Investigate improvements in multi-spin systems using Control Theory. 🔹 Develop an educational tool for physics students, particularly those studying quantum physics, to explore and analyze spin systems in a virtual environment. This tool not only conserves physical resources but also provides students with a hands-on learning experience, allowing them to experiment and understand the complexities of spin systems without extensive physical setups. "Twenty current and former faculty members from The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), were listed amongst the top 2 percent most-cited researchers in the world. The list is a prestigious study known as the Stanford-Elsevier ranking, which relies on standardized citation metrics developed by a team of scientists at Stanford University. Professor and chair of the Physics Department at UTEP Mark Pederson, had the highest number of citations amongst his colleagues. Pederson explained the significance of being recognized on the Stanford-Elsevier list." My academic research activities as unpaid doctoral student at #GhentUniversity in the Department of Electronics and Information Systems (#ELIS) within the research group Numerical Analysis and Mathematical Modelling (#NaM2) have ended. I delivered the following research results over the past 10 years: 1) The Tables of Physics, discovered in 2014 and published in my doctoral thesis (ISBN 978-94-6355-854-9) in 2024, answer the open question/remark from J.C. Maxwell in 1871 about the mathematical classification of physical quantities. The Tables of Physics are similar to the Table of Mendeleev for chemistry. 2) The proof that ternary quantity equations Z=XY represent parallelograms in an N-dimensional integer lattice. 3) The discovery that laws of physics represented by parallelograms have quasi-unique perimeters yielding the conjecture that all the laws of physics must have a high information content. 4) The discovery of the integer sequence #OEIS A270950 giving the number of distinct cardinalities of orbits of the N-dimensional integer lattice. 5) The invention “Machine-implementable method and system for encoding/decoding variables in engineering problems” (US 2023/0153487 A1) and subsequent publication https://lnkd.in/e4UWAyFV. The new method has the advantage over classical dimensional analysis (#BuckinghamTheorem) and modern dimensional analysis in requiring fewer #dimensionless quantities as arguments of the dimensionless measurement model when modelling real-world problems. It is a method for engineers and scientists to find an unknown law of physics and help them in the design of experiments (#DoE). 6) The discovery of the fundamental sub-lattice of the orbit representative (0|7,6,5,4,3,2,1) of the #SI kind of quantities counting 40320 vertices.

Excited to welcome ultrafast laser spectroscopy specialist Denitsa Baykusheva as one of the newest additions to our faculty. Denitsa aims to unify ultrafast physics and quantum mechanics by developing technology that explores the quantum-level interplay of light and matter.
