OMI Cultural Participation Project is committed to artistic & cultural excellence in San Francisco District 11, and providing resources to those in need. With the high cost of living pushing many vulnerable individuals & families to the brink and onto the streets, we recognize the need for safe & secure housing, and basic necessities to help stabilize our community. As homelessness continues to rise citywide in San Francisco, and especially in our community, our goal is to create a network foundation of support and compassion with our community partners, providing hope and a new start for those who have fallen on hard times. Together we can create a ripple effect of compassion and generosity that reaches far beyond what we can imagine. By joining forces and rallying support for this cause, we're not just offering temporary relief; we're planting seeds of hope and empowerment. Today we launched a new self help tool for people facing family violence - a Home of Your Own. It's about understanding your rights, and taking action. We know that family violence is a leading cause of housing insecurity for women and children, who represent three-quarters of people accessing homelessness services. We also know the numbers of people at risk continues to grow and that the impact of violence and homelessness radiates out into the community. This tool was co-designed with women who've lived experience of family violence and homelessness, together with frontline community workers. By answering a few anonymous questions about their situation, renters facing family violence can learn about their rights, and be directly supported to take practical steps in maintaining or accessing safe housing, including by creating personalised documents to communicate with their rental providers.  Please share with anyone who might need it.

Further, teach your children service by living it. Teach zero sum of everything does not equal win/loose, instead, it’s connection to our human existence, our ingenuity and free thinking, innovation bolstered by our connections through serving, creating win/win. Are you MAD?    After working with charities on their IT and telecoms for a number of years, Stuart noticed a repeat problem where there was insufficient affordable housing for their service users resulting in homelessness, living in shelters, sofa surfing etc.    Let's Make a Difference (MAD) was set up to build a different social housing model where businesses, individuals, and investors could all make a positive impact on their community for generations to come.     Creating a new way of approaching the problem MAD is putting processes and assets in place that will last for generations.    But, they need our support.     Come along to our next meeting to find out how we’re all chipping in to support Stuart 😊    #ReferralMarketing #HousingCrisis
