Around 80 of our Arch colleagues and business partners headed to Tustin Ranch Golf Club last month for our annual Southern California broker appreciation golf tournament!
It was a wonderful afternoon of friendly and competitive golf, course games and lots of exuberant engagement as everyone showed off their prowess on the course. The tournament was stacked with many competitive teams, but after a stiff competition, William Rheaume, Carlos Quinteros, Mark D. Kiger and Tony Owen's team ultimately came out on top.
The event concluded with an awards dinner, raffle and lots of camaraderie. “This was our largest event ever. Thank you to everyone who helped contribute to a wonderful afternoon," says John Washington, SVP, Western Region Distribution Leader.

As you might already know I am loyal supporter of the Brisbane Broncos since the early '90s. Like 100,000’s of others, I've witnessed the exhilarating highs of the 90s and 2000’s and just last year, the challenging lows, and every year in between, that come with being part of such a storied club. This season, despite all of OUR collective expectations, it didn’t unfold with a finals finish. However, I firmly believe that it’s in these challenging moments where true character and resilience are forged.
The cartoon by Brett Lethbridge in today’s Sunday Mail while humourous, captures a moment of reflection that resonates deeply—not just for our players and coaches, but it should be for all of us who stand by this club.
It’s easy to be disappointed when things don’t go our way, especially after the high of last year’s grand final. Yet, I choose to focus on the positives: the moments of joy, the lessons we've learned, the growth we've experienced, and the unwavering passion that continues to drive every member of the Broncos community.
In both sports and life, success is rarely a straight line. It’s about how we adapt, learn, and come back stronger. I have no doubt that our team will use this season as an opportunity to reflect, regroup, and refocus on what it takes to climb back to the top.
Let’s continue to support our team whether it be your family, friends or colleagues—not only in moments of triumph but also when our resolve is tested. After all, it’s resilience that separates the good from the great, and I firmly believe the Brisbane Broncos are destined for greatness.

As we celebrate the 150th Kentucky Derby, the excitement is palpable, and the stakes are higher than ever. Not only does this event captivate horse racing enthusiasts like myself, but it also plays a crucial role in boosting local economies. According to recent reports from WLKY, this year’s Derby is set to have the largest economic impact in its history, with Louisville Tourism estimating a staggering $405 million brought into the city over Derby weekend—a clear sign of its significant influence on the event and hospitality sectors.
From hotels to local eateries and everything in between, the influx of visitors ensures that these industries thrive, supporting thousands of jobs and fostering community spirit. Whether it's the roar of the crowd or the race to the finish line, each aspect of the Derby creates unforgettable experiences and lasting economic impacts.
📊 𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰? The economic impact of this year's Derby is expected to be approximately $3 million more than last year, making it the highest estimate for any Kentucky Derby.
As we gear up for this historic race, I'm curious to know:

This weekend was the Kentucky Derby, and on the historic 150th running of this race, Mystik Dan delivered a breath-taking win, beating second place Sierra Leone and third place Forever Young in the first three horse photo finish since 1947 ended in a 3-horse photo finish.
This year's race marks a unique milestone with the 150th running of the Derby — the first race took place back in 1875.
There are lots of interesting facts about the Derby, with the drink of the race is the Mint Julep, made with Woodford Reserve as the official bourbon for the race. There wasn’t an official trophy for the race for almost 50 years, the first race was in 1875 and the trophy was created in 1924. To this day the Kentucky Derby trophy is one of the only solid gold trophies in the United States. The fastest Kentucky Derby was run by Secretariat in 1973 (1:59.40). The slowest winning time was run by Kingman in 1891 (2:52.25 for the mile and a half). There have been three fillies to win the race.
I love the Kentucky Derby not only because it’s exciting, but also because it always provides important leadership lessons. Here are a few from the 2024 race:
You can win against all odds.
You just never know.
You can’t stop until the end.
This was an exciting race to watch, and even more interesting doing research on the history of the Derby as well as the winner. If you have something interesting to add to the lore of the Kentucky Derby, drop it in the chat. Don’t forget to like, comment, and follow so you don’t miss future content.

This team has been a faithful partner to Havenwood for a long time. They've supported our mission financially, as well as generously given of their skills, expertise, and time. They are true partners, generous in every sense of the word and we deeply appreciate their corporate culture.
We can learn some great lessons from corporations like Kendal King.
1. Communicate - knowing your charitable priorities for next year helps nonprofits be better stewards. Even if the news is disappointing to your nonprofit, the communication is a gift in itself.
2. Mutual advocacy- Helping your partner tell their story helps the partnership. Charities should have a basic understanding of your business and companies should understand the charities mission.
3. Transparency - The charity has the responsibility of being a partner the members of your company can be proud to support. We partner by celebrating the wins and sharing the disappointments.
Thank you Kendal King for being a huge part of empowering single mothers and their children to move from crisis to self-sufficiency. We are grateful.
We had a great time at the Havenwood Golf Tournament yesterday morning! It’s a privilege to be a sponsor for this event supporting such a worthy cause. ⛳ 🏌️
