Archaea is a biology first beauty company. We create novel ingredients that enable new claims and new product experiences. Send Dark is a precision prebiotic that is a new way to manage odor. In this video, I'm going to talk through our consumer perception benchmarking study. The objective of this study was to obtain a comparative analysis of the performance of our deodorant product containing Centac to the active system of the panelists current natural deodorant brand. The product used for this study was a water based roll on containing 4% cedar. There were 268 male and female participants aged 18 to 55. And they were instructed to use the product after a three day washout period where they applied the roll on once daily to the underarm after showering. The panelists answered a series of questions on day zero about their current natural deodorant brand, and then at the end of the study they answered the same questions along with some additional questions regarding their experience with the roll on containing Sundark. Beyond the traditional inclusion and exclusion criteria, we recruited panelists in a very particular way by asking them to submit a photo of their current deodorant product. This enabled us to make sure we were classifying each panelist as user of a deodorant and not an antiperspirant or other perfume or fragrance body spray. For the roll on product we created a very simple oil and water emulsion. And this did not contain any additional deodorant or skin care actives. We also tested this formula in vitro against a placebo to ensure that the base of the formula was not having any other impact on a mock community of underarm microbes. Here's the overall segmentation of the panelists in this study. You can see that stick formats had a majority here at about 70%, followed by Roland spray bombs, creams and powders. Here is the segmentation of the deodorant active systems for these panelists. Sodium bicarbonate based systems where majority at 54% followed by a fragrance and essential oil based systems and then mineral salt based. So these are your traditional crystal deodorants containing potassium alum, ammonium, alum etcetera. So here is the overall panelist assessment for this study. Overall, we found that the Centrac prototype matches the performance of the panelists current deodorant brands in terms of odor protection. And this first statement here on the left, this product protects me from odor all day. There was no statistically significant difference between the response for the panelists current natural deodorant brand and their responses for our product containing Sundark where there was statistically significant difference where in this following statements the product application is smooth and comfortable, my underarm feels nourished and my underarm feels moisturized. And with these statements, our product containing sent Arc outperformed how the panelists rated their current deodorant brand. With the following statements will this product is easy to apply and this product does not cause discomfort or irritation. There was no statistically significant difference between how the panelists rated their current product and how they rated our product would set dark. Looking at the overall consumer preference, 48% of the panelists agreed that they preferred deodorants that are unscented, like our product with Senturk over fragrance products. 48% also agreed that they prefer our product was Sent Dark over their current brand. And 75% agreed that their overall experience with our product was pleasurable. And overall, 70% of the panelists agreed that this product performs as well as their current brand, and 72% said that they would recommend this deodorant product to a friend or family member.
