Arapahoe County is seeking to hire a Management Analyst who will work on a wide variety of projects and programs in support of our Board of Commissioners’ strategic plan. This person will provide analytical management assistance by planning, coordinating, and directing assigned special projects and programs, such as tracking strategic initiatives and outcomes, grant program management, annual youth awards, and economic development contributions. The position acts as a liaison for the County with a variety of public, private, and community organizations, such as the cultural council; conducts studies and evaluations for assigned projects and programs; develops presentations and recommendations; and maintains administrative and fiscal records. Super interesting role alert, but please note that this role is more often titled as an Evaluation Analyst. So why is it so interesting? The work this person does validates (or invalidates) all of the strategic initiatives that are launched to solve a particular problem. Whether it's related to process, organizational structure, or service delivery, once the rubber has met the road, this is the person that looks for the proof in the proverbial pudding (I can't think of any more metaphors to cram into that sentence, but trust me, I tried). Wondering if a new program is actually living up to the hype? Time for the Evaluation Analyst to work their magic. Skeptical that a strategic initiative is meeting the promised outcomes? Evaluation. Need to know what the impacts have been after rolling out different service models? Evaluation, evaluation, evaluation! In other words, this person (and the rest of the team) makes sure that our compasses are actually pointing true north. Exciting? Well, I can't think of too many other roles outside of the ELT/SLT that can have as much of an impact on organizational direction!
