The International Conference on Game Jams, Hackathons, and Game Creation Events (ICGJ) is happening in an actual, non-virtual place this year! This course offered in collaboration with United Nations University-MERIT introduces you to the approach, concepts, and methodology of game theory using simple puzzles compiled over nearly two decades of teaching game theory, along with articles from reputable newspapers addressing contemporary societal problems. Through working on such puzzles, you will gain practice with examples, enabling you to analyse real-world problems described in articles with game-theoretic tools. Over the years I have used the term "Always be a student". Meaning no matter what level you are in your career, we should constantly be learning. I am not sure if I got this phrase from someone or I paraphrased it in my own journey. No matter as it has stuck with me. In the past week or so I have had time to catch up on my reading, my own personal student time if you will. So proud to have finished my last semester with two amazing projects: Might-Eez Workshop & Getting AHead. These two projects are likely my most impressive projects yet and I couldn't have asked for a better class of students to work with on either project. Might-Eez Workshop was my first project with complex interacting systems but thanks to my recent work in learning gameplay programming patterns it was actually quite simple to make, and is not my favorite project that I've ever worked on. The only thing I wish I'd had time to develop before the end of the semester would be a proper tutorial for each of the games. I am just putting this out there. Any companies that produce Table-Top Role-Playing Games, I have just submitted a brand new TTRPG as my Master's dissertation. I will be writing another TTRPG for my PhD. I have a number of game related concepts that are currently in my production qué. I am looking to talk to a company regarding developing some of these ideas for possible PhD funding. I know this is a punt, however, I will be bringing these ideas to market regardless, I just thought it's worth a shot for the PhD. #roleplaying #ttrpg #publishing
