Offshore oil drilling platforms typically use specialized high current explosion-proof #sliprings. The operating environment of offshore oil drilling platforms is very complex, and equipment needs to be able to operate stably in harsh marine conditions and flammable and explosive oil and gas environments. Therefore, the slip ring used must have the following key characteristics: Powerful power transmission capability: Due to the large amount of energy supply required for drilling operations, the slip ring needs to be able to transmit high-power current to meet the operational needs of the equipment. High explosion-proof level design: In the environment of oil and gas extraction, explosion-proof safety is crucial. The slip rings used must comply with high explosion-proof standards to ensure safe operation in potentially explosive environments. Durability and reliability: Offshore operations require equipment to have high durability and reliability to resist the influence of natural factors such as seawater corrosion and storms.

This is a big step forward in the world of well control! Have yet to put my hands on a K-BOS, but excited for the day! Well done to all involved in continuing to shape our industry! #VenturaOffshore #KineticPressureControl
Breaking News - Ventura Offshore and Kinetic Pressure Control complete its first campaign together utilising the K-BOS (Kinetic Blowout Stopper) Offshore Brasil. NOTÍCIA- Ventura Offshore e Kinetic Pressure Control Complete sua primeira campanha juntos, utilizando a sistema novo o K-BOS (Kinetic Blowout Stopper). “Ventura Drillship Carolina, working for Petrobras, offshore Brazil, has just finished its first batch of 4 wells, all in the Buzios Field, using the K-BOS. The subsea wells drilled and completed for Petrobras, from January 2024 onwards, have an average water depth of 2,000m, total measured depth of +5,000m, and an average duration of 60 days each. All operations were safely performed, according to the K-BOS system specification without NPT. The K-BOS system, which can shear anything, and seal the well instantly, undoubtedly added enormous reliability to the DS Carolina’s BOP capabilities, offering a significant risk reduction for subsea drilling operations, while protecting both the environment and the personnel on board. Ventura Offshore aligns a long successfully working history with Petrobras, with its commitment to invest in technologies which gives the company a cutting-edge competitive advantage, being proud to set the milestone of the first drilling contractor to deploy K-BOS with Petrobras, not only with the Carolina, but also with its semi-submersible Victoria.” Drillers Shack wishes to congratulate all involved with this industry changing technology and the drive to ensure safety is the number one concern of the Operator, Drilling Contractor and Partners. Certainly we will be seeing more of the K-BOS in Brasil and many other worldwide operations. A fantastic video demonstrates the operations of oil rigs!! The process of setting up oil rigs begins with selecting a location and designing the rig. The components are constructed and transported to the site, where fixed platforms are anchored to the seabed or floating rigs are secured using mooring or thrusters. During drilling, a rotating drill bit and drilling mud are used to cool the bit and stabilize the well. Casings are installed to support the structure of the well. Once the desired depth is reached, the well is punctured to allow the flow of oil or gas. The extracted resources are brought to the surface using pumps, then processed and transported to refineries. Regular maintenance is conducted to ensure that the operations run smoothly and safely. Subsea BOP (Blow Out Preventer) During drilling operations a BOP is installed on the subsea wellhead at the base of the marine drilling riser. BOP is mandatory and used to protect the rig and the environment at the seabed level in case of gas kick from subsea well, to avoid the possible blow out. BOP stack and subsequently subsea X-tree are connected to the wellhead by hydraulic -operated connector. At this video, it is illustrated the way of deployment of BOP. #subsea #offshore #offshoreoilandgas #oilandgas

Why are Sauer Compressors used in Offshore Oil Drilling? 💡 When deep-water oil drilling, maintaining a rigid connection between the drill platform and the seabed is essential, especially during rough weather conditions. To achieve this, motion compensation systems are used to counteract the movements of the sea, so that operations on oil rigs can continue safely and efficiently. 🛢 Motion compensation in this case is achieved through wire-line or direct tensioning technology, both of which rely on hydraulic systems. But how is hydraulic pressure kept stable in these systems? This is where a high-pressure Sauer compressor comes in. 🌊 In the deep ocean, compressors such as the SAUER 5000 Series are providing the high-pressure air or gas necessary to maintain stable hydraulic pressure. This is crucial in enabling motion compensation systems to counteract the effects of waves, wind, and currents during offshore oil drilling, ensuring safe and continuous operations. Our compressors are applicable in a wide range of industries and applications. If you are curious whether a Sauer Compressor might be the missing piece of your business operations, do get in touch! https://lnkd.in/emrAe8qs #OffshoreDrilling #OilRig #SauerCompressors #MotionCompensation #HydraulicSystems

Brand leader driven by endorphins and the next challenge. Always remember failure is common, so don’t let it prevent a second chance to achieve your goals.
De-risking 📉 the commissioning phase of a subsea tie-back to existing late life infrastructure can present a number of technical and production challenges. 🔸 Drilling losses to clean up from the near well bore that may risk production upset 🔸 Well to be suspended for a period of time before tie back risking chemical damage from suspension fluids 🔸 Test lower completion screens / sand control 🔸 Production test for 'rates check' including measurement, sampling and analysis against design and outcome objective Expro has always been proud to lead the market and partner our clients in safe and effective completion Well Test clean-ups from conventional flowbacks through to the highest rate single train Ultra High Rate gas solutions on the market 👇 . (Yes, the below Expro MegaFlow system can handle over 170MMSCF/day Gas Rate from a conventional footprint and single package.... thank the in-house engineering 👏 team for this amazing innovation from the alternative of a dual train system that dominates the decks with high POB) We always welcome the conversations on how to optimise rig time for a well test clean up where the above risks may exist. #technology #innovation #productionoptimization #longterminvesting

Well intervention can significantly increase recovery rates from subsea wells. Our Well Intervention Systems enhance or restore the performance of a well over its operational life. By conducting the well interventions from a dedicated vessel, rather than drill ships or semi-submersibles, emissions from the intervention can be reduced by 50-70%. In #offshore #oilfields, operators continuously seek to drill faster while increasing efficiency and reducing costs. Time is money, and non-productive time significantly increases costs. Employing strategies that enable faster #drilling speeds while overcoming the inherent challenges encountered when drilling longer and more complex wells can enhance operating efficiency and profitability. Vibrations encountered #downhole can slow the rate of penetration (#ROP) and damage critical equipment such as the #drillbit or bottomhole assembly, as well as electronics.
