This month, I moved from Texas to Washington. It’s definitely been an adjustment but in the best way. 😎 Moving across the country is never just about the practicalities—saving money or gaining proximity. It’s a conscious choice to move toward something better, an active decision to nurture what truly matters. For me, the gravitational pull was toward my loved ones. Over the years, I’ve lost too much time with my kids, and I didn’t want our connections reduced to fleeting holiday reunions as they grew older. The move also represented a return to what nurtures my soul—human connection, presence, and authenticity. In Texas, I found that challenging someone’s beliefs wasn't always seen as an invitation for conversation. Now, I’m excited to step outside those dogmas into an environment where hard discussions aren’t only welcomed but expected as catalysts for growth. ✨ At my core, I want to prioritize quality time with those closest to me. Because ultimately, my career achievements will feel profoundly empty compared to missed opportunities for genuine connection with those I care about most. The best part of my move so far? Getting to see my daughter doing what we both love—music. Here’s us at the radio station where she hosts her show! 🪩 #FamilyFirst #Authenticity #Growth #Belonging #Connection #MovingCrossCountry #FamilyTime #QualityOverQuantity #PersonalGrowth

Here’s a winter appropriate and life appropriate blog: Ski the Trail.
My daughter-in-law Julia is a pastor. I'm honored to say that she shared one of my major life philosophies in her recent New Year's Eve sermon. Julia said in her sermon, "My father-in-law Cecil has this phrase he says all the time: Ski the trail! If you do something, especially something fun or indulgent, you should do it all the way, go ahead and ski the whole trail, finish it out." Julia used this in a sermon on approaching the New Year with an attitude of abundance, excessiveness, and joy. However, the Ski the Trail philosophy also applies to doing hard things and to having faith. My blog is too long to post on LinkedIn, so let me give you a few highlights and a link. * Julia's sermon and my own reflections capture how Ski the Trail positively impacted our vacation last year. * We had a riotous time at a pie pantry because we skied the trail. * I applied Ski the Trail recently to a dark time when I needed encouragement. Helping 6-7 figure brands add an extra $50k-250k/mo with emails. Without them having to write, edit or send a single one. Considered to be a mad "scientist" in email circles. Frankenstein approves this message.
A swing and a miss. And you've just struck out. Or so your mind tells you. It's a deceitful little critter, isn't it? We've all been there. Those moments where it feels like the universe is plotting against you, where everything just seems like it's crashing down on you. And yeah, it's easy to: → Let those moments consume you → Let those moments truly define you → Let those moments be an excuse to call it quits But here's the thing. Every single person you meet, every success story you hear, has its own set of struggles and setbacks. Behind the glossy facade... there's: → Some heartbreak → Tons of self-doubt → Late stressful nights → Challenging decisions The distinction lies in not so much of the 'what' but in the 'how.' How we choose to perceive and respond to a particular situation. We all have our sad stories (some sadder than others). But we also have the power to turn them into: → Something that inspires others → Something that drives us to be better → Something that enables us to do better → Something that causes us to stop and stare From the beauty of it all. To live our lives in ways that bring out true happiness in ourselves and those around us. It's about taking that pain, those tears, that heartache and using them as the catalyst to push us forward. Because ultimately, our stories are what: → Makes us unique → Makes us human → Makes us unstoppable ---- Liked this post? Follow me Nolan Daytona Repost to help others win in life ♻️
