Many of us now smuggle supermarket snacks in our bags/under our tops to avoid feeling very short-changed when visiting the cinema. When it costs a small fortune for a family to enjoy a movie night, complete with gold-priced popcorn and snacks, it’s no wonder that living rooms have become the new premier VIP seats. We can’t deny the impact of streaming services like Netflix in altering viewing habits. The convenience of on-demand movies has indeed lured many away from the velvet seats of cinemas, but cinemas aren't doing themselves any favors with pricing/experience. I can’t help but ponder the fading allure of the traditional cinema experience. Once upon a time, the sound of popping corn and dimming lights was the prelude to adventure - now, it seems more like the overture to our wallets emptying super FAST!
