Why Recruitment Teams Prioritize English Proficiency In the modern job market, recruitment teams often seek candidates with strong English language skills for several compelling reasons: 1. **Effective Communication**: English is widely used in professional settings for communication. Proficiency ensures that employees can interact clearly and efficiently with colleagues, clients, and partners, reducing misunderstandings and improving collaboration. 2. **Global Business Environment**: Many companies operate on an international scale, where English serves as the common language. Employees who are fluent in English are better equipped to handle global business dealings and contribute to international projects. 3. **Access to Resources**: English proficiency allows employees to access and understand a wide range of industry resources, including manuals, research papers, and software documentation, which are often written in English. 4. **Professional Development**: A significant amount of professional training, courses, and certification programs are available in English. Proficient candidates can take full advantage of these opportunities for skill enhancement and career growth. 5. **Integration into Diverse Teams**: English proficiency helps new hires integrate smoothly into diverse, multilingual teams, fostering a more inclusive and productive work environment. 6. **Customer and Client Interaction**: In many industries, interacting with English-speaking clients and customers is a regular part of the job. Proficiency in English ensures that employees can manage these interactions effectively and provide excellent service. In essence, English proficiency is often seen as a crucial skill that supports effective communication, enhances access to information and training, and facilitates global business operations. #learn #jobs #english #jobseeker #support #opentowork

Cultural diversity is all fun and games unless you are the recruiter. Before all the benefits of hiring multilinguals kick in, there are a bunch of challenges the recruiter has to face. Donato Rondinone knows what I’m talking about. ✊ ✅ Ensuring that multilingual candidates not only have the necessary language skills but also fit well into the 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆'𝘀 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 can be challenging. Differences in communication styles and work expectations may arise. That is why it is more important than usual to know the mission your company has and to convey it clearly. 📰 Before a new expat joins the team a lot of paperwork and 𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘂𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 must be considered (especially in Germany). On our job board you can make sure that all the candidates applying to your job offer are European citizens or already have a work permit for Germany, this will prevent a huge headache waiting to happen. 🔎 Let’s be honest, we are all people, stereotypes or assumptions about certain languages or cultures can impact the hiring process. Employers need to ensure that 𝗯𝗶𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 do not influence decision-making, and candidates are evaluated based on their skills and qualifications. Even after successfully hiring a multilingual candidate, the challenges don’t stop. 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 multilingual talent can be difficult if employees feel isolated or undervalued due to language differences. Companies should create an environment where diverse linguistic backgrounds are celebrated. 🎉 But all these challenges are worth it and easy to tackle with the right preparation and the right job board. 🌞 Contact me if you want more information on how to successfully find the right language talent for your company! 🌞 PS: Check out this fun video of our office enjoying the perks of an international work environment #EuropeLanguageJobs #InternationalRecruiting #Multilinguals #challanges #workenvironment

Looking to attract global talent? Start by speaking their language with a multilingual career site. The post-pandemic labor market opened up the borders for remote work. Fast-forward to today, and many candidates are still looking for international career opportunities. However, many companies often find it hard to compete for global talent in different countries. One of the solutions? A multilingual career page. Here's why each company competing in a global talent market should have a multilingual career page: 🚪Open Doors Worldwide A site in candidates' native language removes barriers and shows your commitment to diversity. 🚀 Boost Candidate Experience Easy navigation and personalized touch on your career site leave a lasting and positive impression, motivating candidates to apply to your company. 🌎 Expand Your Reach A multilingual site lets you connect with candidates across continents, broadening your talent pool. Even though a multilingual career page brings many benefits, only a handful of recruitment teams have the technical knowledge or resources to create it. Often, they have to ask the IT department to help out, and this can take months. With TalentLyft, you can create a branded multilingual company career page in a couple of minutes. Forget about back-and-forth with your development team and make your organization the dream destination for global talent. #humanresources #employerbranding #recruitment #talentacquisition

👀 Foreign Language candidates, have you had this thought before - "Why should I speak to a recruitment consultant even though I'm not looking for a new job?" 🤔 Because 🔽 ✅ Foreign Language roles are competitive & fast paced, and you need to know the job market before you actively look for a new role. 🚨 Because maybe by the time you ARE looking for a new role, you might find it difficult to get a new role due to the higher competition these days. ✅ Being at an advantage (well informed about your job's market) gives you more room for an effective, quick, successful job search compared to a difficult and time consuming job search. E.g. how often does my dream/next role open for hire? 🚀 ✅ You need and should keep yourself updated on the market salary, types of roles that are highly in demand, skills related to these roles, the compensation package trends, working arrangement types etc. 👩🏫 ✅ If you're thinking of transitioning into a different job function in Foreign Languages, find out about the skills you should gain before transitioning. 📚 ✅ Most often than not, my candidates would ask for a certain market increment rate because their friends got a certain number. I'd say, make sure to look at the market rate as the actual market rate, rather than your friend's increment rate. Other hearsay info are typically working arrangements, job levelling, company culture etc. Make sure you get accurate market information from someone who actually knows the market. 🔎 🤩 As a recruitment consultant, I update myself with the latest Foreign Language job market information daily which I share across to my candidates. Hence, it's not only about the jobs available, it's also about how I can help you in your Foreign Language career. ⭐ 🌐 Share this post with your network, and 📌 tag anyone who you think is relevant! #Hays #HaysMalaysia #HaysRecruitment #hiring #hiringnow #jobsearch #jobs #malaysiajobs #jobopportunity #careeropportunities #jobopportunities #language #languages #foreignlanguage #expat #visa #freshgrad #freshgraduate #noexperience #malaysiajobs #japanesespeaker #japanese #koreanspeaker #korean #thaispeaker #thai #spanishspeaker #spanish #italianspeaker #italian #germanspeaker #german #dutch #dutchspeaker #vietnamese #indonesian

🤔What type of Overseas Candidates do companies in Japan usually prefer?🤔 Again these are based on my experience, all the clients I work with. But these are the common characteristics I see in overseas candidates that have a high success rate in getting jobs in #Japan: ✅ Age: mid 20s to late 40s. Unfortunately Japan still has a bit of age bias and generally if you are over the age of 50 and even if you have amazing experience, they will usually ignore your profile due to age as they want to prioritize the younger generation of people that can work here long term ✅ Experience: Minimum of at least 5 years experience in the work industry not including interns and Coops. As it is very costly for companies to hire people overseas they want to mainly focus on people in their mid career. Japan rarely hires new graduates or junior overseas engineer unless they have business Japanese ✅ Japanese Proficiency: Case by case, but generally ideally companies here want people with Business Japanese (JLPT N1) or Conversational Japanese (JLPT N3). However if the candidate is very experienced and technically skilled they will consider less Japanese ✅ Salary Expectation: Company case by case, but candidates that have too high salary expectation or does not understand Japan market will be ignored. ✅ Country Location: There are certain countries where Japan struggles to issue visa for or it takes a long time, so they usually ignore applications from these countries ✅ Education: Actually many companies in Japan do pay attention to the University you graduate in and if it is a STEM major. Lots of IT specialist in Japan are usually from top 500 Universities majoring in STEM 📉 Candidates that have a less passing rate in CV screening 📉 ❎ Too junior(1-2 years experience) or new graduate ❎ Job hoppers: Of course I can understand the market isn't great and there has been many layoffs. But Japan worries about people who change jobs too often and if they will stay at the company if they use lots of money to bring them over ❎ Freelance: Freelance people are not very liked in Japan. An HR told me once because they worry about them working on numerous short term projects and how they are not able to commit to a single long term project. ❎ Contract workers: Overseas contract workers also struggle in the CV screening as companies wonder why you worked only contracts rather than taking a full time permanent role. Usually they are undermined. There a lot of other criterias, but limited on word count here. Will try to make a full article about the type of wanted candidates when I have time. But hope this helps. #IT #Tokyo #Japan #myexperience
