How do you solve end-of-year hiring challenges? Here are a few tips from Handler's Client Partner, Laura Lloyd. Mitigate Scheduling Challenges: Emphasize the importance of executive hires to prioritize this for your team. Expect holiday scheduling challenges with the candidates as well. Address Offer Packages: In many cases, a candidate will forgo their annual bonus if they leave at or before the new year. Be prepared to address this financial concern. Take Advantage of Market Attention: While some candidates will be busy with the holidays, others will experience a slow time. This presents the perfect opportunity to capture their attention as a desirable landing place for their next career placement. A common term in the business world is "quiet quitting." We want to introduce the concept of "quiet hiring." This practice emphasizes developing internal talent to fill open positions instead of recruiting external candidates. To kick-start this initiative, consider implementing training and development programs. Look for programs that foster technical skills and emphasize the importance of soft skills, such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. A holistic approach is essential in a dynamic work landscape. #QuietHiring #FutureOfWork #TalentDevelopment #RetentionMatters #EmployeeEngagement #CostEffective #ProductivityBoost

Being a recruiter lending the candidate a constructive feedback is really important even if turning it down. Just simply saying the phrases mentioned below have such an unecessary negative impact and is where the recruiters are at fault I must say.
MBBS. MPH. FRSPH(UK). PGD-HCM(UK). MCPS Family Medicine. Public Health Specialist with five years experience in Disease Surveillance, Emergency response and preparedness, Outbreak investigation and Capacity Building.
Dear Applicant, We regret to inform you... We appreciate your time... Thank you for your interest... You have not been selected... We'll keep your details on file... Fancy job descriptions can be intimidating and scare off top talent. As an employer, it's important to keep job descriptions clear, simple, and inclusive to attract the best candidates and build a diverse team. Remember, the actual job may only require basic skills, knowledge, and discipline. At the end of the day, everyone is capable of doing any job. It all depends on the team you'll be joining. Working together to create a welcoming and inclusive work environment that values diversity and encourages growth. #Everyone_is_capable_of_doing_any_job

It's always interesting when there are "unwritten rules" within a company, where you're de facto excluded from consideration for certain roles based on your current level within that company. I find this especially frustrating given the "other side" of many veterans' professional careers, the one with, in my case as an example, 20 years of experience in a field with a large transferrable skillset. If one was not a current employee of that company, they'd be interviewing for positions two, three levels higher than what they're currently at - but based on where they are because they do happen to work there, an entire career outside of that company is essentially ignored based on an internal pay grade. Bizarre. #CorporateStructure #CareerGrowth #InternalOpportunities
