Strong equity returns boosted the funded status of corporate pensions according to Agilis: “Both the Fed and the markets are posturing for second-half 2024 interest rate cuts, meaning that now is the time for pension plan sponsors to give serious consideration to increase allocations to liability-matching assets to protect funded status gains realized over the last year,” says Chief Commercial Officer Michael Clark via PLANSPONSOR #retirementplanning #pensions #definedbenefit

This could work but would it? A great point made here 👇 that being able to take a slice of your pension pot to purchase a home would encourage people to start pension savings earlier in life. 💸 There's pros & cons to the idea but having a passion for both pensions & home ownership I kind of like it. 🏖 🏡 #pensions #homeowner #property

Love a good prediction, and WTW have provided some great insight for 2024. As always, the pensions industry seems set for another year of balancing challenges against opportunities. Personally, I'm looking forward to developments around potential access to, and use of, surpluses, and the long-awaited (will-they, won't-they?) Funding Regulations. #pensions #DefinedBenefit #DefinedContribution #Retirement
