As the year draws to a close, the time has come to reflect on AERODOC - Logistics and IOR’s journey in 2023. Our team is thrilled to share that this year has been exceptionally positive for our company: We have seen substantial growth and consolidated our position as a leading company in global end-to-end logistics, in particular for services such as DDP + IOR and Fulfillment, with international expansion as an essential pillar. Demand for our services has increased remarkably In Asia and Africa, allowing us to strengthen our presence in those emerging markets. Latin America and the Caribbean remain our core markets and we’re still expanding there as well, especially in Mexico and Brazil. AERODOC - Logistics and IOR’s did not just gain a foothold in all those regions. We have, in fact, established robust operations on our own or through strategic partnerships that go far beyond simply having an agent in those countries. It is worth noting that we have also made significant investments in the development of these core markets. For us, Mexico and Brazil are not only business opportunities, but also a chance to contribute to our clients’ economic and logistics progress there. We are committed to continuous improvement and innovation, and constantly look for ways to optimize our services to meet our clients’ changing needs. In 2023, airBaltic’s purposeful growth and development continued. According to preliminary data, we transported around 4.5 million passengers, marking a notable 36% surge from the figures in 2022. Over the past 12 months, we performed more than 44 thousand flights - 18% more than the year before. Michael Chowdry starts Atlas Air in 1992 operating a single Boeing 747-200 converted freighter from John F. Kennedy International Airport. The company goes public and lists on NASDAQ as ATLS in 1995. The company is delisted and goes private in 2023 under a new investment group led by funds managed by affiliates of Apollo, together with investment affiliates of J.F. Lehman & Company and Hill City Capital. Michael Steen becomes the CEO of Atlas Air Worldwide as the company goes private. Atlas Air has 113 aircraft that it operates on four different fleet types; close to 50 aircraft in dry lease portfolio with Titan Aviation Leasing. “The strategy that we have today is something that we have built over the past 10 years. We have a meticulous focus in several different areas – diversifying fleet and diversifying customer base," says Michael Steen in an interview recorded at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) World Cargo Symposium (WCS) held in Hong Kong recently. In recent years, major European flag airlines have faced increased competition from low-cost carriers, which have disrupted traditional #business models and forced incumbents to adapt their strategies. Which levers and strategic behaviors have flag carriers employed to cope with increased competition? Do all carriers' strategic behaviors converge in response to the evolving market? How do internal and external factors correlate with these strategies?
