We provide a full scholarship each Cyber Defense Analyst Program training program for those going through financial hardships, but are passionate and looking to develop the skills and knowledge for Cybersecurity Analyst Tier 1 & 2 positions. Next cohort starts in January, accepting applications until Dec 8.
You'll go through 2 months of rigorous training developing the competencies, then we'll put you through a 1 month engagement in our virtual Security Operations Center that we developed. It'll be very similar to on the job tasks at this point. You'll respond to and resolve alerts and tickets generated from security tools detecting malicious and anomalous endpoint and network activity. Afterwards you'll go through a 1-week live practical exam to put it all to the test, manually reviewed and graded by us instructors (no multiple choice).
Competencies you'll learn:
- Network Traffic Analysis
- Email Security
- Windows Endpoint Triage
- Log Analytics
- Cyber Threat Intelligence
- Adversary Tactics
- Incident Response
- Detection Engineering
Check out the requirements, put an application in, and book a call with me to talk more.

Any time data science meets cybersecurity in discussion there's always something insightful to take away.
I'd like to see these two sides working together more closely in the future in the field and not as silo'd or absent from one another in departments even. I believe this would yield more preventative and proactive realizations and discussions instead of just putting out fires.
Thank you again Charles Givre for hopping on the stream with me!
#cybersecurityawarenessmonth Day 3 Tip: stay on top of emerging tech, not the hype.
In our latest stream, we break down the real-world use cases of AI in cybersecurity with Charles Givre, co-founder of GTK Cyber and data science expert of 20+ years in the industry. He shows how AI tools like GPT can automate tasks like image analysis, extracting valuable data from security footage, and more!

💡 Key takeaway: Cybersecurity is fundamentally a data science problem – it’s all about making sense of massive data streams. But as powerful as AI is, AI security is still an emerging challenge, and we don’t yet fully understand the risks it poses.
If you’re new to cybersecurity or data science, this is an area you need to learn about. The landscape is evolving fast, and the potential of AI is huge, but understanding its implications is critical.
Stay tuned for tomorrow as well for the release of the Applied Data Science course authored by Charles himself!

I don't know what I'm feeling, but I'll start with a story:
A couple weeks ago I got messaged by several students from another bootcamp that felt shorted and lost after spending over $10k, asking what to do, and how they could make up for lost time and money. I wish I could say this isn't common, but this is a common theme of reachout I get almost monthly still.
I'm sharing this story because it doesn't need to be like that anymore. If you are that student out there right now or were, please check this out.
Our Cybersecurity Awareness Month initiative of SOC100 launching in October has turned into more than a course... there are now a dozen Instructors involved and it's growing with all that believe in what this stands for.
The why is really straight forward: entry-level Cybersecurity training needs to be "entry-level accessible". That means affordable, approachable, and someone to help guide and instruct you along the way over a long distance and not just for a part of it before passing you off to someone else.
That's why this course will be pay what you can with an affordable minimum we'll credit back to you, and will be Instructor-led and validated on a certification. You'll go from the absolute basics all the way to doing the work on the job. No stitching together disconnected courses and joining a million Discord channels hoping it all sticks. I've been there - I know what that's like.
Cybersecurity is subset of IT, and yes, you CAN start here without needing to go back to school or set up printers in an IT job. It's a lot of work though, but it's possible and we're here with the roadmap for you.
After writing this above in one go, I know what I'm feeling now:
1. I'm grateful to everyone getting involved in this, truly, for the time and energy they'll put into this
2. I'm relieved that I'll be able to show a roadmap to anyone else like those students that messaged me
🚨SOC100 page is up! https://hubs.li/Q02QvlY70
This behemoth of a live Instructor-led 400+ hour course has grown into an industry initiative for Cybersecurity Awareness Month with a dozen instructors now involved, and open to more. We’re also giving away a bunch of SOC100 Course & SOC100 Certification attempts for this by:
1. Joining the waitlist to earn an entry
2. Resharing this LinkedIn post to earn an entry
🙋 So - why SOC 100?
Honestly, many students still find Level Effect to this day after spending tens of thousands on entry-level bootcamps with not a lot to show for, or getting lost in a sea of 20-30 hour high-level courses that were never designed to connect to one another.
We want to change that with SOC100:
- If You invest, We invest. The course is pay-what-you-can with an affordable minimum pricing. Additionally, what ever you pay we'll credit toward CDA or any of our other courses after completion
- It's taught by many top professionals in the field and features over 20 modules, 400+ hours of content, and 120+ labs, all instructed live and available on-demand afterward
- Go from opening an app to removing malware and using a SIEM, to working in a Virtual SOC as a Tier 1 Cybersecurity Analyst
- It readies you for Intermediate training by starting you in Detection Engineering, DFIR, and more
- Offers experience to put on your resume as a Community SOC Analyst helping others just like you
🤝 Want to be part of this with us? just use the “Get Involved ❤️” form on the web page.

Risk makes Governance and Compliance relative, and when all three arms of GRC are in sync - everyone's job gets easier. After all, generic policies will just provide generic results.
Last Friday I did a live stream of getting started in the GRC space focusing on the "why" and "value" behind it all while keeping the jargon down.
Check it out and let me know your thoughts!
We have some big news this week...! Firstly for today - check out the recording from last Friday's stream where we reviewed all things Governance, Risk, and Compliance! 🎤
What do you think? how important is GRC?
GRC isn't just paperwork - it's a massive domain that has a major influence on business decisions. Businesses can change entirely on how GRC can help evaluate and recommend mitigations of relative risk.
We covered a lot of ground here so much that it'll warrant a Part 2.
