Work life balance Yesterday I touched on work life balance and some of what I do to maintain it. Today I will go into more that I can suggest you do. Always remember we all have the same 24 hours it’s up to us how we use them. First day back to work in the New Year is always a day of contemplation. One very significant lesson I have learned over the years is that the most important commodity in life is time. It has been a wonderful festive break, nothing like time with the family but we must remember work life balance is important through the year. The big corporate dream is getting to a place of work life balance. However, what if I say we are dreaming the wrong dream? I truly believe a perfectly balanced life is boring. Balance is not something that should exist as two different compartments of your life. Balance is more needed in your head, mind and heart. When you are aware of it, you know that a part of who you are at home comes with you at work, and a part of who you are at work, travels back home with you. Life, my friend, is about realising, accepting and dancing with the fact that you will be stretched on certain days, and figure a way to work around it.
