To mark World Environmental Day, I had the honor of hosting the second instalment of the #ShiseidoTravelRetail Shiseido Dialogue: Journeys of Beauty series featuring insights and learnings from our panelists Samantha Ng from Diageo, Saskia Möller, LL.M. Möller from Gebr. Heinemann and Su-E Yap from The Nature Conservancy.
Our discussion highlighted sustainability as a mindset, not just a function. By viewing sustainability as an opportunity for all, we can invest in our planet and people, create social value, and foster lasting habits both at home and at work.
These 3 key takeaways resonated with me the most:
1. A small action, when implemented at scale, can create a substantial impact.
2. Education is fundamental to supporting travelers in making sustainable choices. By providing clear information about the sustainability of products, travelers are empowered to make informed decisions.
3.Travel retail is a powerful driver of change and conscious buying decisions in this sector can significantly influence company behaviors and cascade positive impacts across the value chain.
Our deepest gratitude and appreciation for our panelists for sharing their time, energy and thoughts with our team. We hope this contributes to everyone’s learning in the long run.

L’ORÉAL FOR THE FUTURE
Our sustainable commitment for 2030
The sign shines bright projecting LOreal’s vision for 2030. Taking greater responsibility to engage the ecosystem and play a big part in the solutions and challenges the world is facing.
A strategy built on 3 pillars;
1. Transforming ourselves to ensure our activities are compatible with a resource constrained planet.
2. Empowering our business ecosystem to involve our consumers, suppliers and communities to help them transition to a more sustainable world.
3. Contributing to solving the challenges of the world and making positive contribution to society.
Still so much to learn and engage as to the vision for 2030. We all have a part to play in making the world a better place. One action at a time, YES, We can do it!
As a small business owner in the entertainment and sustainability industries, I’ve faced my share of challenges this year. Through it all, I’ve learned the art of resilience and the strength to keep moving forward.
I feel grateful to have had the chance to create ethical and sustainable weddings and events that prioritize regenerative practices. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to crafting celebrations where intimacy is valued, and meaningful values inspire us to gather.
In times like these, you might wonder, “How can we focus on sustainability when there are so many pressing matters?” I believe it’s precisely during these moments that we’re called to create gatherings that honor respect for all beings and build genuine connections. Now, more than ever, we need to celebrate in ways that reflect our values and sustain our planet.
If you’re looking for professionals to host your private or corporate event, I’d love to collaborate and bring your vision to life. My work is driven by a commitment to events that align with ecological practices, respect biodiversity, and celebrate our communities.

Is your company full of sustaina-blah-blah?
On a not so recent trip to the outdoor fair in Munich, it was surprising to see how the entire venue looked and talked in the same way – not just visually but also through their tone of voice. You couldn’t tell one brand from another.
Everyone ‘cared’ about our ‘planet’,
everyone used ‘recycled’ materials,
everyone was ‘committed to cut carbon imprint’ by a not so distant year in the future.
Because these terms are so widely used (and unfortunately abused),
they fail at creating a feeling of true company responsibility
that consumers really crave for.
Of course, this sustaina-blah-blah language isn’t limited to the outdoor industry. We see the same sentences literally copy-pasted across all industries. The result is that none of it really stands out — or connects with already overwhelmed consumers.
What’s interesting in terms of sustainability & brand building is your unique, creative approach. That's where the opportunity lies.
Being sustainable is no longer ground breaking. People expect companies to act sustainably. This whole conversation deserves a more refined language.
And way more creativity.
Does anyone have some great examples to share?
Johanna Skans opened the 'Eyes on Sustainability' Conference
The 'Eyes on Sustainability' conference was held on October 2 in Brighton, UK, organised by Simon Jones and the Optician. It focused on addressing the environmental and social challenges facing the global eyewear industry.
As a keynote speaker, Johanna Skans shared her journey from optometrist to visionary leader and pioneering entrepreneur, centered around the theme of "Protecting What We Love."
'After all, isn’t the true essence of sustainability about safeguarding what matters most to us? What do you love? Your children? Nature? Your grandchildren?
Our goal is to ensure future generations inherit a planet where they can not only survive but thrive.'
The event gathered key players from the global eyewear industry, focusing on promoting sustainable practices, tackling challenges, and exploring innovative solutions to reduce the industry's environmental footprint.
Johanna concluded her speech by posing a question to the audience:
'How can you best serve the world with the knowledge and tools you have?'
Today, we ask you the same question:
How can you best serve the world with the knowledge and tools you have?
🤗 To us, #standtogeZher means acting together in harmony, working well by sharing a single creed, and remembering our roots. If together, as a Group, we can achieve ambitious goals, it is truly because of our daily teamwork, our sense of cooperation and respect, and our reliability and dynamism.
💪 We strongly believe in this concept, which is why this hashtag has become our motto for the local application, here at Badia Polesine, Italy, of “BEYOND: Taking Action for a Brighter World” - Dentsply Sirona's global sustainability program.
🌍🌞 So, what about the actions we have started implementing this year? Watch this video and join us to take action in improving our sustainability routine.

🌟Reflecting on a truly inspiring evening at Green Drinks Copenhagen on December 4th!🎄✨
We delved into the world of 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝘂𝗽𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 with Milan Flíček of OUR SHIFT®. Their work is redefining fashion by transforming textile waste into stylish, unique apparel. A standout example? Upcycling 𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 from Roskilde Festival into one of a kind signature pieces—giving discarded fabrics a second life!♻️🎪
Luis Ageitos took us on a journey through 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲, sharing insights on how we can all support 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘄-𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆. We also engaged with the European Commission's 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 (https://lnkd.in/eTywacET), which highlighted how much of our footprint we actually estimate or guess. Track your consumption over a set period as a start—taking the time to measure accurately could reveal more impactful insights. This experience underscored the value of tracking our consumption—imagine the insights we could gain by monitoring our habits more consciously!🗺️📊
