Inspired by a recent visit to University of Chicago and to experience the legacy of a strong commitment to art, architecture, and landscape designed to improve and impact people’s lives. I have some exciting news! I am proud to be joining Northwestern University as the Senior Associate Vice President of Facilities. Northwestern is a Top 10 University committed to research and innovation to shape a better and brighter future. I look forward to working with the dedicated facilities team, Northwestern stakeholders, and the Evanston community to help the University realize its goals. I’ve enjoyed nearly 20 years of federal service including many in the Senior Executive Service. It is bittersweet to say farewell. I worked alongside visionaries and dedicated professionals and I am a better leader because of them. I’m excited for the challenge of developing an academic platform for the 22nd century! Go Cats!

Inside this courthouse is a plaque that commemorates a Cleveland postal clerk that had the idea of delivering mail to people’s houses vs. having folks come to the post office. That idea changed mail delivery for the world. Great things can happen when you give people autonomy and hold them accountable. What great ideas are we missing because of group think?

Leadership requires you to CARE. - CARE for people - CARE for mission - CARE for self First, great people make great organizations and they need trust, respect, and autonomy. Second, take care of the people and they will take care of the mission.
