HH is a Global organization with HUGE Local Impacts. At Hopefull Handbags Global Nonprofit we have 3 pillars. 1. Our Hopefull Hamsbags that are filled and given to survivors of domestic abuse to raise hope, and open the conversation to get them to Safety, Health, Wellbeing and long-term sustainability. These handbags are donated from their communities, so everything stays in the communities that they were donated in within that is our HH SHINE and NEW Programs which continue to have success with getting survivors back on their feet and not returning to abusive situation’s. 2. Our self-defense programs globally. At HH, we believe that everyone has the right to learn how to protect them selves. We offer self-defense classes that are open to women and children and in the Caribbean open to men, women and children. (we are offering certifications to teach self-defense coming in 2024) 3. Our HH special project. Right now our HH special project is rural schools and communities in Kenya, raising funds and installing rainwater harvesting tanks so the children and communities have clean water as well as sanitation projects to install toilets. In every school that we have installed the water tanks it has alleviated the water borne illnesses that the children were getting very ill from. During our special projects within the funds raised we are able to help with long-term sustainability for our survivors by giving jobs, teaching them a trade, and having them teach others a trade. The communities all pitch in to complete his water tanks and sanitation projects. Together we are Stronger ❤️Cathlene

Happy Earth Day... I hate to think what my carbon footprint is with my love of travel, but here are some ways I try and reduce it: Re-use shopping bags ✔ Use a reusable water bottle ✔ LED light bulbs ✔ Use public transport when possible ✔ Re-cycle all applicable rubbish ✔ Shop in charity shops ✔ Donate old clothes to charity shops ✔ Turn plugs off at the wall when not in use ✔ What do you do in your personal and professional lives to help the planet? There's still time for you to join the #40days40items challenge. The idea is to let go of 1 item a day, so by the end of Lent, you will have at least 40 items either ready to donate; recycle or sell. Top tips : 🎒 have a bag somewhere handy (hallway/spare room) to put your donations in each day. 💻 if you want to clear bigger items, why not add to your local Facebook group or Marketplace as a free item. ♻️ try to avoid landfill and use groups such Eco Essex Rehome, Reuse, Repurpose for items which are harder to rehome. ❤ tackle things which are less emotionally charged first e.g mugs , clothes (1 category). Sophisticated technological solutions make life easier, but when it comes to the biggest challenges, just a little bit of good old empathy is what's needed to overcome them. 🤗 Hrabre njuške is a Croatian non-profit organization which takes care of stray animals by providing them with food and medical care, and searches for a home for each one of them. 😺 The work that they do is necessary and important, which is why we have decided to support them with a donation.
