Post thanksgiving, let’s turn the spotlight inward for a moment. While it’s important that we express gratitude for our families, friends, colleagues, and mentors, ✨ gratitude is also a gift we can give ourselves. Take a moment this week to recognize your own worth, growth, and contributions. Here are some questions to ponder: 1️⃣ What am I thankful for about myself? 2️⃣ What’s one challenge I’ve overcome this year that I’m proud of? 3️⃣ What qualities or values do I embody that I’m truly thankful for? 4️⃣ How do I show up in the world in a way that fills me with gratitude for the person I am becoming? Chasing after more? More success, more wealth, more recognition—it can be easy to overlook the richness of the life we already have. Fulfillment doesn’t come from acquiring the next thing or achieving the next goal, but from embracing the present moment and finding contentment in what we already have. Whether in our careers, personal lives, or even on our paths of self-growth, there’s an incredible peace that comes when we pause the endless striving and allow ourselves to appreciate where we are … right now. Integrating Joy in the Pursuit of Excellence Throughout my diverse journey—spanning the soccer field, business world, and academia—I have consistently pushed for excellence. My purpose-driven approach has been meticulously calculated to enhance growth and outcomes. I am profoundly grateful for this aspect, as it's fundamentally why I am where I am today. However, this new Beggi has come at a cost. I've often held back from indulging in life's simpler joys, viewing them through a lens of guilt and shame or as distractions from my goals. In the process, I lost touch with parts of the old me. A recent trip to Las Vegas, casual meetups at community events, and simply enjoying dinner with friends were once seen as luxuries I couldn’t afford in a life committed to ambition. Yet, these moments have taught me an invaluable lesson—they are not just permissible; they are necessary components of a life well-lived. Joy and pleasure are vital as they recharge and inspire, fueling further achievements and enhancing creativity. By embracing the full spectrum of human experiences, including joy and pleasure, I find myself better equipped to tackle professional challenges with renewed vigor and a fresh perspective. And importantly, they allow me to be human. Here’s to Beggi 3.0—still rigorously purpose-driven but now also richly infused with joy and carefully chosen pleasures.

Teach yourself to celebrate every milestone of your journey and make it a habit. No matter how small this milestone may seem. In our busy lives, we often miss the little steps we take for our growth, our businesses, and our teammates. This can lead to confusion and make us feel less important. When we face criticism, a toxic environment, or the pressure to succeed all the time, it’s even more important to recognize our achievements. So, compliment yourself and value what you’ve done. Don’t let others downplay your efforts. Right now, take a moment to list your achievements from October, and start thinking about your gratitude list for New Year’s. There’s always something to notice and be thankful for! ✨
