Amy Weaver’s Post

Today, Salesforce announced our Q2 earnings with beats across revenue, operating margin, and cash flow, and after nearly 11 wonderful years at Salesforce, I announced my decision to step down as President & CFO, once a successor is in place and fully onboarded. I am excited about my next chapter and the new opportunities ahead. My time at Salesforce has been an incredible experience — from joining as General Counsel, to leading the legal and corporate affairs teams, to taking the truly unprecedented step to jump over to become CFO. In addition to legal and finance, I’m honored to have had worked with so many amazing teams during my time at the company — including overseeing, at different times, global communications, corporate security, real estate and workplace services, corporate development, the Office of Accessibility, government affairs, audit, and ethics & compliance. I am grateful for everything I have learned from each team and especially grateful for Marc’s expansive vision for my career. Most of all, I am thankful for all of our employees. I’ve always said the secret to our success at Salesforce is simple: it’s our employees, our employees, and our employees. They are talented, dedicated, and — most importantly — kind. I’ll be at the company while we conduct an internal and external search so no goodbyes for now! There is so much to look forward to, including Dreamforce in September. I hope to see many of you there.

It’s rare for a CFO to be such an inspiring storyteller, be able to simplify the business strategy and genuinely believe in the human side of the numbers. It’s been a privilege to learn from Amy Weaver over the years, both internally and also through her external community events. If you haven’t seen her 2023 Graduate Commencement Address at Leigh University, I would highly recommend watching it!

There are no words to truly capture your impact and all you’ve accomplished. You are a powerful force in only the best way. A force that understands deeply, supports unendingly and executes brilliantly. It’s been a gift not only to have worked with you, but to have been led by you, learned from you and known you as an individual. Thank you for making all of us stronger and better and, of course . . . kinder.

After seeing your post, I knew I wanted to write something but also wanted to take a bit of time to reflect first. Only one day later, there have already been hundreds of people flooding the comment section with sentiments of admiration, respect and gratitude for your leadership. You leave behind an undisputed legacy at Salesforce, something exceedingly rare in corporate America. You have borne enormous responsibility acting as both a CLO and CFO (a mind blowing accomplishment in and of itself), and managed to maintain your authenticity and values throughout. You have taken the time to help grow individual careers during your tenure, including mine, for which I am so grateful. I hope that you are able to get some recharge time before moving on to the next beautiful chapter of your life.  Sending a big hug and congratulations.

It is not often that a C-level consistently gets a standing ovation from their employees. I am so thankful I was able to witness what a true leader is in you. Thank you Amy for all your leadership and the ability to take even the most complex information and put it into images and descriptions that moved the entire company forward.

Amy, you remain (in my experience), the only executive who has caused an employee audience to spontaneously break into a standing ovation during an internal all-hands call, and not just once. This speaks to your values of transparency, trust and respect in everyone you encounter. Thank you for your leadership. You will be missed.

I hope you know what a profound impact you have had on so many of us. You are the kind of leader we all aspire to be - exceptionally capable, wise, empathetic, fair and of course kind. We are all better because of you. ❤️

You are truly inspirational, Amy. Powerful, poised, patient and kind. A leader like no other. And no one has made the ABCs of corporate finance more accessible than you. I’m grateful I had the opportunity to work with and learn from you. Wishing you all the best in your transition and next chapter 👏 👏 👏

I very well remember CKO in NYC: only one leader got a standing ovation before they'd even got onto the stage. It was a testament to the love & respect that every leader in that room felt for you, Amy Weaver. You represent all that is best about leadership: clarity, authenticity, vulnerability, honesty and kindness as well as the willingness to take personal risk in a very public way with your career choices. Thank you for all that you have done for the company, and for modelling leadership so openly.
