🔔 If you are hiring in Indonesia, you may be wondering about employment laws such as employee's working hours. The normal working hours in Indonesia for employees are usually 40 hours per week - which can be divided into 8 hours per day for 5 working days, or 7 hours per day for 6 working days. 🇮🇩 Indonesia is one of the largest populations in the world that has a bustling economy and diverse businesses: young talents are aplenty in the country, with the median age of an employee being 28 years old. Most employers hire programmers, designers, and data-entry roles from Indonesia - making it an attractive and popular choice for employers to source for global talent. 📌 For employees' working hours that are less than 40 hours per week, they are acknowledged and recognized if the company has the following characteristics: ✅ Undertaking work that can be completed in less than 35 hours per week ✅ Can implement flexible working hours ✅ Undertaking work that can be completed outside a particular location ✨ Are you having challenges to hire and manage employees in Indonesia? 🇮🇩 Learn more: https://hubs.li/Q02rBLkJ0 #AYP #AYPGroup #hiringinIndonesia #globaltalent #HRsolutions #globalexpansion #businessgrowth #businesssuccess

While most workplaces follow an 8-hour workday for 5 days, some companies might extend that by 5 hours on the 6th day to stay within the 45-hour limit. It's important to remember that actual working hours can vary depending on industry and specific job. Facing challenges hiring and managing a team in Malaysia? We can help! If we can highlight the positive aspects of COVID-19 related to workplace culture changes, flexibility of work might be the most frequent answer. At Mitsui Indonesia, COVID-19 has taught us that flexibility can be achieved without sacrificing our performance. With the high integrity demonstrated by Mitsui's people, flexibility does not negatively impact their ability to fulfill their job responsibilities. On the contrary, it has a positive impact on employee well-being, which can lead to an increase in productivity. Despite the passing of the COVID-19 crisis, we are currently still implementing a hybrid work arrangement, with 2 days of Work from Home and 3 days of work-in-office per week. Regarding working hours, we also offer flexibility for employees to choose their working time periods. We believe that each person has their own productive hours. Some might prefer to start working earlier so they can come home early, while others may prefer to work late. The flexible working arrangement offered by Mitsui Indonesia is part of our toolkit to create a positive atmosphere—a workplace where employees can work as comfortably as possible. #MitsuiIndonesia #Mitsui #DreamJobAtMitsuiIndonesia #FlexibleWorking

I’m writing from Jakarta this week, where I’ve been spending time with friends, ex-colleagues turned friends, my team, and my significant other. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle of building something new and forget to nurture the relationships that ground us. But being back here, where many important moments started for me, has given me the space to reflect and plan for the year ahead. Almost 10 years ago, I left a stable job at Visa. Despite loving the role and the team, I felt something was missing. Driven by curiosity and a refusal to settle for comfort, I packed my bags and moved to Jakarta. I had an exciting new challenge lined up—leading the HR function for Viva Health—but no HR network, no language skills, no friends, no family. Just a hunger to step outside my comfort zone and dive into the fast-moving world of an emerging market. Little did I know, this decision would shape both my personal and professional life in ways I couldn’t imagine. I met my husband here, who has been my biggest rock, and I built lifelong friendships with amazing teams, many of whom are now part of the co:grow's support network and my angel investment journey. Queuing thank you dance to: Karolis Maciulskis Sarah Felicia Aleisha Fiona Fiona Low Rajashree (Shree) Chandramogan Connie Cheung Indonesia’s start-up ecosystem continues to bring new energy and innovation, just as I experienced almost a decade ago. Did you know, in 2023, Indonesia ranked second in Southeast Asia’s start-up ecosystem—just behind Singapore in the number of unicorns. With the largest market in the region, it’s clear that Indonesia is a leader in the start-up space. We look forward to continuing to grow our footprint here. For founders and HR leaders, this presents exciting challenges. As your business scales, so must your approach to talent and culture. Finding the right people, building strong cultures, and putting HR practices in place early on are key to long-term success. Many start-ups still overlook the strategic role HR plays in fueling growth, and building those capacity can feel overwhelming and lonely. We are excited to launch our HR Academy and HR Community in 2025, designed specifically for founders and HR professionals looking to build impactful, scalable talent strategies. This is your safe yet challenging space to learn and apply tools, insights, and receive support to create equitable and effective HR practices that are not just copy-and-paste best practices, but ones that truly match your growth ambitions.
