It's Wellness Wednesday! 🌟 Today's topic will be focused on the importance of stretching. Stretching improves flexibility, reduces muscle tension, boosts circulation, enhances posture, and promotes relaxation. 💡 In a review by Sinnott et al. (2023), only two programs to reduce musculoskeletal disorders for first responders included flexibility training. This means that flexibility is an important, often overlooked, part of first responder fitness. #AMESKSU #AMESResearchCenter #KennesawStateUniversity #KSU #WellnessWednesday #Stretching #Wellbeing

It's Wellness Wednesday! 🌟 Today's topic is Resilience. 🔎 According to the American Psychology Association (APA), resilience is the process and outcome of successfully adapting to difficult or challenging life experiences, especially through mental, emotional, and behavioral flexibility and adjustment to external and internal demands. ⛰️ Being resilient in the military means facing the stress and trauma of deployment, still finding the strength to support others, seek help, and keep serving after returning home. 💡 When participants in AMES' research were asked about what helped them to be resilient during difficult times, many said that they relied on social support from family and friends and resources in their communities. #AMESKSU #AMESResearchCenter #KennesawStateUniversity #KSU #WellnessWednesday #Resilience #BeResilient #MentalHealth #CommunitySupport
