Here is a link to the new NHS menopause draft guidance so you can get through the media hype of CBT being recommended as an alternative to HRT which isn't what is written in the new guidance - it is listed under psychological symptoms and flagged as an aid for low mood and anxiety symptoms. Sadly no mention of therapeutic foods for symptoms, only this: "Give information to menopausal women and their family members or carers (as appropriate) that includes: lifestyle changes and interventions that could help general health and wellbeing" One mention of isoflavones for vasomotor symptoms but only in supplement form not in foods like soya and linseed which is safe for all. There is no reference to not taking in supplement form if you have a history of breast cancer - I will flag this with NICE: "Explain to women that there is some evidence that isoflavones or black cohosh may relieve vasomotor symptoms. However, explain that:multiple preparations are available and their safety is uncertain different preparations may vary interactions with other medicines have been reported." Food is one of the biggest accessible levers we have, even if we're on HRT. I just wish it was mentioned more as part of the menopause toolkit. They are still in a consultation period so still time to send in thoughts (deadline is January 5th) for the guidance which will be published in May. https://lnkd.in/eT4VTqXU #menopause #menopausenutritionist

The tech equity access discussions & advocacy - specifically those around access to CGM for those living with T2D - are making a difference 🙌🏻👏🏻 And this is why we’ve been doing it 👇🏻 "If you are pricking your finger occasionally, you get a glimpse of what's happening, but with a CGM you open the curtain up as if it's a full day and you can see exactly what's happening in real-time." "We can see enormous benefits … as they use them, they actually begin to change more and more their behaviour and we actually get better and better outcomes." Now we wait in anticipation for the Parliamentary Inquiry into Diabetes in Australia report! https://lnkd.in/gGpc9nsR
