Look I used to be a Punk Rocker and New Romantic, I get it. Looking different is cool.
However as an employer I need to consider how we look to potential customers so I don't wear punk clothes any more, don't wear makeup, etc... when dealing with clients. Why, because I know that they are not expecting it and as such I need to work within the system/society we've created for ourselves.
If I choose not to do so, then that's my decision and I shouldn't expect others to behave as I'd like them too, when I've chosen to be individualist so don't behave like they want me to. Seems this person expects others to accept her, even though she's chosen a different path for herself.
I'm someone who follows the Buddhist path, so the physical body isn't the person and I get that, but we live amongst others so until we're all enlightened, we have to compromise don't we?
These particular tattoos do present a message to those who view them, and that's perfectly fine indeed it's what the person with the tattoos wants or they wouldn't have chosen them. But by making her choice of imagery, she chose to make a statement. So if an employer disagrees with that statement, should they be forced to employ someone they may not think is suitable because of how they've chosen to look?
In my opinion people need to realise, others have no reason to accept them for who they choose to be. Yes the state is trying to force people to do so, but that's impossible as society is based upon the average of all of us, not the whims of the individual or small groups.
