IPWEA is excited to announce the launch of the Australian Local Government Association 2024 National State of the Assets Report. This key report includes evidence-based findings highlighting the need for increased federal funding for local government. Some key findings of this year’s report include: • Local government infrastructure in poor condition has increased by $4bn since 2021 to $55bn. • A $1bn improvement in the condition of local libraries, recreation centres, galleries, cultural centres and community halls over the past three years. • Around two-thirds of local government assets are in good condition, 25% are in fair condition and less than 10% are in a poor state of repair.
