Beyond the lederhosen and giant pretzels, some serious marketing brewing in the market. A recent study in the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science shows that offering 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝-𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬 like special 𝐎𝐤𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭 beers increases demand by creating a sense of exclusivity. Consumers respond to the limited availability by prioritizing immediate purchases, even if it temporarily reduces sales of regular products. Over time, however, the excitement diminishes, highlighting the importance of carefully timed releases to maximize brand impact (link in the comments). When demoing, presenting your product in an inviting way is key to success. Customers always appreciate new ideas and easy-to-replicate at home recipes, and most likely, they will leave your table with product in hand. I always have a few recipes available, depending at which store the demo is scheduled at, making sure that product(s) used to complement my demo is available. I also like to display them on my table (see beans and sofrito at left corner of table below) with a small sign telling them which aisle they can be found in the store. And if you look at the sign to the left of sauce bottles for tasting, that's a recipe card for the cabbage salad that customers can take a picture of with their cell phones. Stores LOVE when you can promote products and make multi sales. It's all about team work. BTW, during Yellowbird® demos, I play instrumental salsa music through a small bluetooth speaker (loud enough to get attention 😁), customers love it and some start to dance while tasting. Let's have some fun while working!
