Leading the way to a clean-energy future, one “chomp” at a time! A flock of 100 Katahdin sheep are temporarily taking care of vegetation management at Minnesota Power’s Jean Duluth Solar, an innovative partnership with MNL, which provides the conservation grazing services. The sheep are chowing down at the 8.5 acre site so pollinator plants can thrive. In addition to being adorable, this sustainability-in action-strategy saves money on mowing.

MNL lamb was served at two recent conferences: World Agrivoltaics Conference in Denver & Solar Farm Summit in Chicago. Crowd pleaser!

I think solar grazing is super cool and I'm glad to see it happening at ALLETE.
