"It's not fair" Stop using your age as an excuse. A new client in her late 50's asked me if she might face ageism in the recruitment process. I said "Yes" She smiled and nodded. Glad of the honesty I think. You might, it's not always that people think 'i don't want anyone over 40 in this job' It's often an unconscious bias especially at the CV stage. How to combat it? Take everything off your CV that happened 10+ years ago, remove the dates on your education and god forbid, your date of birth if you are still putting that on your CV . But also realise that if they don't want you because of your age, then the company won't be for you anyway. But stop using it as an excuse, it's also likely that your CV isn't being matched to the job, that you aren't putting in key words and tinkering with your document to make it pass the ATS, so no matter how old you are it is not even getting to a human. You are using it as an excuse to not do what is necessary to get the job done. This isn't like you at all.
