One of the most interesting aspects of conducting research is the Synthesis wall (can be digital, can be physical). This tool makes laying out data and triangulating fun and easy to consume. It was especially helpful when we were exploring the civic tech landscape with Civic Hive, allowing us to see the wide ecosystem and identify areas for improvement. Whether you're working on user research, innovation research, communications research, or market research, a synthesis wall can be a valuable asset. It helps to organize and synthesize data, making it easier to identify patterns and draw insights. Have you used a synthesis wall in your research? What tools worked well for you? Share your experience in the comments! #research #datamanagement #insights #civictech #marketresearch #synthesis #synthesiswall

🌟 Exciting! I am entering a Debate!! 🌟 I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be participating in an upcoming Tech Duels debate that promises to be an exhilarating journey! But here’s the twist – I will be advocating a stance that is contrary to my own beliefs! 🔄 Why is this so exciting? Debates are not just platforms for presenting arguments; they are crucibles for testing ideas, understanding different perspectives, and fostering empathy. By debating a viewpoint opposite to my own, I’m stepping into a realm of intellectual challenge and growth. It’s an opportunity to explore the breadth of a topic, deepen my understanding, and refine my thoughts. This event is not just a debate; it’s a celebration of open-mindedness and the power of respectful discourse in our continuous pursuit of knowledge and understanding. It’s about embracing the complexity of issues and acknowledging that there’s always more to learn. I’m looking forward to this very fun ride and can’t wait to share my experiences and insights with you all. Stay tuned for more updates! If you are in DC, you can watch it live!! #Debate #OpenMindedness #aileadership #womeninai #responsibleai #IntellectualGrowth #EmpathyInAction #LifeLongLearning

Strategic digital futurist & speaker - talk to my digital twin | Living and breathing cutting-edge technologies to inspire Fortune 500 companies | Shaping tomorrow's world | TED | 5x author
Once basked in the glow of unbridled optimism, the technology landscape seems to have undergone a profound transformation, morphing from the beacon of hope to a source of deep skepticism and resentment. 😱 ➡️ Shira Ovide encapsulates this seismic shift, reflecting on a decade where the technology industry, once the David amidst global turmoil, burgeoned into an unassailable Goliath. ➡️ This metamorphosis wasn't subtle; it was a dramatic pivot from the sunny faith in technology's potential to a clouded vision marred by disillusionment and distrust. ➡️ This week's crystallization of this shift, underscored by a landmark European law aimed at curbing Big Tech's overreach, echoes a broader societal introspection about our relationship with technology. ➡️ The vibrant enthusiasm of the 2010s is now a cocktail of wariness, questioning whether technology, particularly AI, serves us or ensnares us. ➡️ This reflection isn't mere nostalgia; it's a critical juncture in our collective journey with technology, urging us to ponder the dual-edged sword of innovation. ➡️ While we've witnessed technology's prowess in solving complex problems, there's an escalating concern that it might be weaving a tapestry of new dilemmas — compromising privacy, amplifying deceit, and prioritizing corporate interests over common welfare. ❓ In this narrative of tech disillusionment, the call to action is clear: Can we recalibrate our trajectory to harness technology as a force for good, ensuring it aligns with humanity's broader interests and ethical standards? Or are we destined to navigate a landscape where technology's blessings are indelibly shadowed by its curses? LINKEDIN friends! I have a favor! Support this SXSW panel discussion on Practical AI: Changing Industry & Environmental Trajectories! Sign into SXSW and vote! Moderated by Laura Anne Edwards (Oxford Space Initiative) with panelists Bridget Burger (STEM Iceland), Jillian Verbeurgt (Co-founder & CTO, GreenBytes), and Heiðrún Ósk Sigfúsdóttir (Co-founder & CEO, Catecut), this panel will show how to utilize AI in ways that accelerate more sustainable practices in big industries like food, apparel retail and tech, moving these industries towards digital transformation while cutting off global waste and reducing co2 before they even happen. VOTE HERE: https://lnkd.in/eqYRV4vZ The goal of the panel is to inspire other innovators to look at AI as a tool in a clever solution rather than the solution itself. What we'll address: --AI makes data analytics and tech processes efficient but is a tool in a more significant solution. --Many large industries still fail at digital transformation because they really aren’t set up for success by the solutions claiming to solve issues. --All areas of expertise must collaborate to solve these big problems. Often, it’s the simplest idea, with the right tech that solves the complex issue

Advisor and thinking partner to small business owners. I help you create strategies and stay on track to achieve your goals. Working to make the world a better place for all of us through creative collaborations
I know X sucks in lots of ways but I just came across this guy: https://x.com/_jaybaxter_ via E. Glen Weyl - co-author of Plurality https://x.com/glenweyl Jay is a lead engineer in Community Notes, which is OSS and he has just posted that YouTube is now adopting Community Notes in exactly the same way that X does and Jay is calling for Zuckerberg to do the same. Community in action! Community Notes: a collaborative way to add helpful context to posts and keep people better informed Community Notes aims to create a better-informed world, by empowering people on X to collaboratively add helpful notes to posts that might be misleading. Contributors write and rate notes Contributors are people on X, just like you, who sign up to write and rate notes. The more people that participate, the better the program becomes. Only notes rated helpful by people from diverse perspectives appear on posts Community Notes doesn't work by majority rules. To identify notes that are helpful to a wide range of people, notes require agreement between contributors who have sometimes disagreed in their past ratings. This helps prevent one-sided ratings. Learn more about how Community Notes handles diverse perspectives. X doesn’t choose what shows up, the people do X doesn’t write, rate or moderate notes (unless they break X's Rules.) We believe giving people a voice to make these choices together is a fair and effective way to add information that helps people stay better informed. Open-source and transparent It’s important for people to understand how Community Notes works, and to be able to help shape it. The program is built on transparency: all contributions are published daily, and our ranking algorithm can be inspected by anyone. Learn more how it works under the hood. https://lnkd.in/eJimWj2r
