All it takes is one company to commit to an unforgettable and thoughtful hiring process in which even those that are rejected, walk away with dignity. Let me tell you something. The best incentive is already there.  The incentive is your reputation. It is part of your brand. The opportunity here is massive because right now the bar is on the floor. What would this look like? -Clear job descriptions -A transparent hiring process described in the JD -Pay ranges publicly listed and honored -Better treatment of rejected candidates What would better treatment be? 𝗜𝗳 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗱 A prompt rejection email 𝗜𝗳 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗱 A prompt rejection email AND An offer to provide 5-10 mins feedback on the phone I already can hear the objections. "We cant afford to do that." Yes you can. What you really cant afford to do is to dilute your brand by being cold and transactional like every other company that also claims to be "people centric". Invest in your reputation by ACTUALLY treating people how you would want to be treated. Cut costs somewhere else. I promise, you will be the repeated subject of business case studies, and it will cost a lot less than your current PR campaign. Are there any companies that want to be unicorns in how they hire? I'm here, waiting to meet you so I can introduce you to the scientists at Trulitica - the best scientists you will ever hire. #scientist, #biotech, #biotechjobs

The price objection hurts my heart. There are ATS systems available which handle all this stuff automatically and personally for as little as $30 a month. And if you can't write clear job descriptions... that probably means you don't really know who you're looking for, and perhaps shouldn't even be hiring. It's not that they can't afford it, it's more that they don't give a crap or understand the impact. With so many people using platforms like GlassDoor, I'm surprised more aren't paying attention. It's not that I'm living in fantasy land and expect everyone to have empathy, but these platforms literally show a digital record of how badly you treat your applicants. And even that doesn't seem to change anything. 🤯 The Life Sciences candidate pool won't be as it is today forever. It's going to bite companies on the ass, eventually. Great post, Ali!!
