Major headlines in San Diego as Dexcom lays off 500+ workers to relocate manufacturing to Arizona. The good news is that the site will be retooled for product and process development. The bad news, is that several manufacturing-based workers will need to look for new work in San Diego. Speculatively, I wouldn't be surprised if the move had to do with improving proximity to Samsung chip manufacturing facilities being built in Arizona. For those of you that are hiring for manufacturing in the med device space, keep an eye out for Dexcom folks, as I'm sure they could use your support. #biotech, #biotechjobs, #manufacturing

I appreciate you connecting the dots with the Samsung's chip factory. I'm not savy in that space but I imagine this move is loosely tied to/initiated by Biden's CHIPS and Science Act. At any rate, I hope this is a net positive for SD biotech to get an influx of talented folks!
