Blame it to our collective insanity or an escape from the tumult of the real world, #Halloween is trending on all social media apps. Forget broomsticks...Gen Z & Millennials are flying high on social media, hunting for the eeriest inspirations. And brands are treating them, not tricking! Trust Heinz to come up with a diabolical scheme of machiavellian proportions and they will deliver - not just in serving good ketchup but making sure you use it for your bloody costume too (pun intended). Turning ketchup into “Tomato Blood” (oh what reckless abandon is this?), they cheekily declared: “If you have Heinz, you have a costume” 🩸 Adding to that haunting brilliance, they launched a a pop-up store in LA where fans could buy costumes and ‘decorate’ them with in-store drip stations. They gussied up with a live-streamed spookfest to boot, ensuring ghouls worldwide didn't miss the magic. Nearly 5k live viewers and a whopping 271.5k replays in 48 hours, ensured the brand captivated audiences with a devilishly clever campaign! What can brands learn from this? - Seasonal spells work, especially with a fresh twist. - Real-time rituals (pop-ups, livestreams) = enchanting engagement. - Create your own version of fun. Don’t have a spine of a gummy bear. - Seek sorcerers (specialized agencies) for max potion potency. - Embrace the new age digital cauldrons (multi-platform marketing) for impact.
