In the face of escalating climate changes, which significantly heightens the threat of disasters affecting households and communities globally, devising effective solutions to address the challenges posed by events such as floods, heatwaves, and droughts should be of great importance to policymakers.
Having recently finished this free course on Nature-based Solutions for Disaster and Climate Resilience provided by the SDG Academy, I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comprehensive introduction to this crucial topic.
'Nature-based solutions' (NbS), amongst other measures, may play a vital role in fortifying the resilience of households and communities against the growing frequency of global disaster events. #NatureforResilienceThe Partnership for Environment and Disaster Risk Reduction (PEDRR)

📣 We are proud to introduce the launch of the Zurich Climate Resilience Alliance!
Formerly the Zurich Flood Resilience Alliance, the Alliance has over a decade of collective experience working with communities around the world to measure and then increase their flood resilience.
The knowledge and approaches that have been developed through this work are applicable to other climate hazards.
The Alliance believes that the only way to increase community resilience at scale is to take a systems approach – one that recognizes the wider spectrum of climate challenges that must be addressed.

📅 May 22, 2024, 11:00 AM (ET) | Watch CCFLA's Senior Program Manager, Priscilla Negreiros, and other sector experts discuss the situation in Rio Grande do Sul, the importance of climate adaptation, and the pivotal role of public-private partnerships in driving these efforts forward.
Organized by the Atlantic Council, we are looking forward to the interesting yet critical conversation between the Governor of Rio Grande do Sul Eduardo Leite, Renata Koch Alvarenga, Guilherme W. Syrkis and Priscilla Negreiros. This has been one of the most devastating climate disasters in Brazil's history. It's crucial that we discuss and showcase this extensively to gather lessons learned and ensure such a catastrophe never happens again.
