[NZ] Will New Zealand follow Australia and develop mandatory psychosocial hazard laws to protect mental health in the workplace? LegalVision's Ruby Mills discussed the potential for this development in an interview with the National Business Review's Dita De Boni. Currently, WorkSafe NZ is consulting on health and safety guidelines supporting mentally healthy work, which Mills described as a growing space in New Zealand. Also discussed was a recent employment case where a man was awarded $135,000 for unfair dismissal. He lost his job after a manager decided it wasn't 'really working out', without raising any disciplinary or performance issues, demonstrating the importance of employers following appropriate termination processes.
