68% of employees are working remotely at least part-time, and 87% would choose remote work if given the option. How about that for a sign? 😮 The change in our work lives in just a couple of years is striking. To give you an idea: before the pandemic, only 34% of employees were working remotely one day per week or more. Crazy, right? Transitioning from an office-first mindset to a remote-first world comes with its challenges, but the progress is undeniable. The benefits? Access to a global talent pool, enhanced focus, and improved retention rates. The challenges? I’d say unplugging after work, building a strong remote company culture and managing different time zones. It’s clear we're all still learning to navigate this shift, but we’re going in the right direction. And technology is definitely smoothing the path. At Wandra, we want to be part of this evolving landscape. Our goal is to build a truly borderless world, where people can work from anywhere and thrive everywhere. 📣 Over to You: How do you see technology shaping the future of remote work? Which hurdles have you encountered in your shift to a remote-first setup? Curious to hear your experiences #RemoteWork #DigitalNomads #TechInnovation

Is remote work the undeniable future, rendering traditional offices obsolete? Alex: "Yes, but" Ness: "No, and" Can company culture survive and thrive in a hybrid or remote environment? Alex: "No, but" Ness: "No, and" As we approach the year 2024, are four-day work weeks no longer a radical idea but becoming a routine reality? Alex: "Yes" Ness: "No (not yet)" The statements alone are interesting. But what I enjoyed most was the nuances in the conversations/debate with Alex Hernandez (founder of the largest remote work platform Jobgether - check it out it has super nice UI). Remote work has undergone significant evolution, driven by technological advancements, changing work cultures, and global events such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Historically, remote work was limited due to technological constraints and traditional office-centric work cultures. However, with the advent of the internet, cloud computing, and communication tools, remote work has become increasingly feasible and popular. In earlier times, remote work was often seen as a perk reserved for certain industries or roles, primarily utilized by freelancers, digital nomads, and some knowledge workers. However, the COVID-19 pandemic forced many companies to adopt remote work on a large scale, accelerating a trend that was already gaining momentum. This shift highlighted the benefits of remote work, such as increased flexibility, reduced commuting time, and access to a global talent pool. At present, remote work has become mainstream across various industries and job functions. Many companies have embraced hybrid or fully remote models, enabling employees to work from anywhere with an internet connection. Remote work has enabled organizations to reduce overhead costs, improve work-life balance for employees, and increase productivity in some cases. Additionally, remote work has opened up opportunities for individuals in geographically underserved areas and those with caregiving responsibilities. #remotework #remoteopportunity #remotejobs #remotehiring

Are you still in denial about being a remote company? It’s July 2024. If at this point you haven’t brought people back to the office or set up a hybrid schedule, you’re a remote-first company. ➡️ No b-school research or keynote from a CEO is going to change your employees’ minds. ➡️ You won’t be able to slowly hire more people in one city to morph into an in-person office without killing employee morale and making everyone nervous. ➡️ You can’t require an increasing number of days in the office and expect people not to notice and keep coming in. According to research, you can expect at least 14% of your employees to quit after a RTO mandate. Instead of chasing the latest hot ideas about offices, put your effort into creating a quality remote company culture. Remote work doesn't have to mean the end of workplace friendships and connection. Ask me how incorporating weekly trivia sessions into your remote team’s schedule can help get your team playing together, wherever they are! P.S. 90% of our teams come back for another season! #remotework #workfromhome #hybrid #remote

Why did we choose remote first? No one should be surprised to learn that the past few years have validated our work preferences. Now, about one-third (35%) of U.S. workers with jobs that can be done remotely work from home all the time*. Companies are wondering what to do. Should they keep things online or come back to physical locations? At Peakforce, we take the perspective of a remote-first company. That means that we're fully oriented toward the online world. We don't have a shared workspace or office, and every employee communicates using technologies like Slack, Google Meet, or Notion. Is remote-first for everyone? Of course not 🙂 The company can struggle with proper information flow and effective setup. Without physical contact with colleagues, a team may feel isolated and excluded. What's more, assigning and reviewing tasks requires trust from employees. Not everyone is willing to do this. However, there are a number of advantages to working remotely. We wrote a blog article about the benefits and our tips for productive remote work. Check the link in the comments and let us know what you think about working remotely? Do you see it as a great value or an inconvenient reality? We’d love to hear from you 🙂 #remote #remotework #flexiblework #digitalnomads #futureofwork * About a third of U.S. workers who can work from home now do so all the time - article by Pew Research Center
