I joined Satair because I felt a deep connection with the company's values. During my interview preparations, I could genuinely envision myself as an integral part of this organization. Spring has progressed rapidly, and I've certainly jumped onto a fast-moving train since starting as CEO of QOCO Systems Ltd early this spring. Through personal 1:1 meetings, I've had the pleasure of getting to know our 45 crew members. Our company is truly international, with only one customer in Finland and a workforce representing 13 different nationalities. Customer meetings, trade shows, and market research have given me a deeper understanding of our customers' needs and market changes.   The aviation industry, particularly aircraft maintenance, benefits immensely from digitalisation now and in the future. Digitalising processes reduces manual labor, human errors, and redundant tasks, while improving workflows and operational efficiency. Beyond enabling completely new business models for our customers, digitalisation has a direct positive impact on the profitability of industry players.   Today, we reviewed our refined strategy for the coming years with the crew. We will primarily focus on the Europe and Middle East regions, but we will start planning our US expansion after the summer holidays this year. The Asian market will be an option for us in the future.   In terms of product offering, we will focus on our Aviadex.io and MROTools.io product suites, developing them modularly according to customer needs. Our target customer groups will continue to be OEMs, airlines, and MRO operators. We are advancing the digitalisation of industry data by integrating and partnering with significant industry players.   Related to our strategic work, we have been developing a recruitment plan, and it currently looks like we will be hiring about 15 new professionals to our team over the next 18 months. By the end of 2025, there would be over 60 members in the QOCO crew.   At the moment, we are looking for an Account Executive to join our sales team. He is responsible for ensuring manufacturing operations run smoothly and efficiently whilst also overseeing server improvement projects. These projects include overhauling our OHS policies & procedures, introducing new manufacturing machinery and processes into the factory, and looking to improve work flow through modifying and setting up new facilities. Joel's favourite thing about working at AirEng is our people. He enjoys working with a group of talented individuals who all have a diverse background of skills and experience. ✨ We’re excited to share with you one of our success stories from our ASCO Team Belgium! ✈ Laurent Janssens was promoted from Operator to Supervisor Production, overseeing several assembly lines and managing a total of 70 employees. Let’s have a look at his amazing career 👏 Q1: You have been employed at ASCO for 25 years. Can you provide an overview of your professional trajectory, starting from your role as operator and progressing to your current position as a supervisor? I started at ASCO in 1998 as an operator. For ten years, I worked in the night shift from 22pm to 6am. My main responsibilities included assembling machine parts, checking the correct functioning of the process, ensuring the accuracy of the codes, and adjusting the machines. After few years, I was promoted to the position of Team Leader and in 2016, I further advanced to become a supervisor. As a supervisor my responsibilities encompass overseeing an entire assembly line, particularly the A350 and A320 tracks, A220 slat tracks as well as A400 M and Embraer E2. I went from managing 25 people to being in charge of 70. Q2: After having been employed in the same company for several years, what factors contribute to your sustained motivation? One aspect that I truly value is the opportunity to enhance my skills and expertise. Working in the aerospace industry fills me with pride as it entails meticulous attention to detail. Q3: In what ways does ASCO foster and facilitate your professional development and advancement in your career? My managers have provided me with encouragement and equipped me with the necessary resources to enhance my skills. By giving your utmost effort, you are presented with the opportunity to thrive and advance in your professional journey. Q4: As a supervisor, what are your primary challenges and responsibilities? Additionally, how do you actively foster and enhance the professional growth of your employees? I perceive people management as the primary challenge I must confront as a supervisor. This domain has undergone significant transformation over the years. I strive to embody an exemplar for my employees, imparting upon them the importance of executing each task with precision and diligence. Above all, I am dedicated to motivating them, fostering an environment that encourages growth and achievement. Q5: What would you identify as your company’s primary strength? Meet Felicia Neacsu, NYS Specialist at Yazaki Romania Can you tell us something about yourself and your role? Since 2019, in my role as NYS Specialist and MOTO Coordinator in Braila, I have continuously been learning more about Yazaki and passing this knowledge on to colleagues. The contact with people also from other departments is what I like most. Together, we strengthen MOTO, a ‘Yazaki Fundamental activity’. Our overall goal is to create the Yazaki Way work environment that reflects the core values and management goals. What interesting projects have you currently been working on? Since January 2023, I have been part of the event team for the NYS Conference. It was about using NYS tools to analyze and identify problems in the production flow. Our plant managed to exceed the reduction target, related to the costs and the optimization of employee transport routes. It was a lot of work but I’m proud of the result! Is there anything special about Romanian worklife you would like to share? Punctuality is expected, arriving a few minutes early is considered polite. The work ethic is strong and may result in longer working hours.
