ULTRA is a tactical UAV with a maximum take-off weight of 450 kg, a payload capacity of up to 100 kg, and an endurance of over 12 hours. 3. Windracers and Purdue University launched the world's first #AI center focused on #autonomous aviation called the Center on AI for Digital, Autonomous and Augmented Aviation (AIDA3). 4. AIDA3 will deliver innovations aimed at realizing the full potential of UAVs and related technologies, and serve as an anchor for R&D and a platform into the US market for Windracers. 5. Windracers provided two ULTRA UAVs named Earhart and Armstrong for regular real-world testing at Purdue University Airport. 6. AIDA3 aims to develop AI and machine learning models for autonomous transportation applications, with the goal of enabling one operator to coordinate 100 UAVs simultaneously.

Do you know how many forms of Unmanned or Uncrewed Vehicles are there? Not only by their specifications but by environment and applications too? Here's a breakdown of the different categories and variations of these vehicles at present: 1. By Environment: i. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) operate in the air and are commonly called drones. UAVs can be fixed-wing, providing long-range endurance, or rotary-wing, offering greater maneuverability. ii. Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) navigate on the land and can be tracked, wheeled, or legged. Applications include transportation, agriculture, search and rescue, and military operations. iii. Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs) operate on the water surface and can be autonomous or remotely controlled. USVs are used for oceanographic research, surveillance, and defense purposes. iv. Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs) function underwater and can be either remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) with a tether connection or autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) that operate independently. UUVs are crucial for underwater exploration, mapping, and scientific research. 2. By Application: i. Military Unmanned Vehicles are used for reconnaissance, surveillance, combat, and other military applications. Examples include armed drones, bomb disposal robots, and underwater mine countermeasures vehicles. ii. Commercial Unmanned Vehicles are used for a variety of commercial purposes, including delivery drones, agricultural inspection vehicles, and self-driving cars. iii. Recreational Unmanned Vehicles often called hobbyist or consumer drones, are used for photography, videography, racing, and entertainment.
