Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has introduced exemptions from mandatory online integration for a variety of businesses, aiming to promote ease of doing business and accommodate diverse sectors of the economy. The move, outlined in the recently issued SRO 428(I)/2024, reflects the FBR's commitment to supporting entrepreneurship and innovation by providing relief and streamlining regulatory requirements for various enterprises. The exemptions cover a wide range of sectors, including: Restaurants Hotels Inter-city travel services Personal care services Medical service providers Photographers Videographers Event managers Retailers Educational institutions Each exemption is tailored to the specific operational characteristics and financial thresholds of the respective businesses, ensuring a fair and pragmatic approach to regulation. For example, restaurants and hospitality establishments without air conditioning facilities, smaller inter-city travel services, personal care service providers without air-conditioning, and more are among those eligible for exemptions. #FBR #BusinessExemptions #EaseofDoingBusiness #Entrepreneurship #Innovation #EconomicProsperity

RBB seminar in Stockholm: Booking/eTraveli - Ecosystem theories of harm In September 2023, the European Commission prohibited Booking’s attempted acquisition of eTraveli. The acquisition would have combined two online travel agencies, one mainly active for hotels and one active for flights. The Commission’s theory of harm was based on conglomerate effects, but rather than leveraging dominance into a new market, the harm was believed to arise from adding functionalities that protect the acquirer´s market position in its core market. While this theory is not new, it was the first prohibition decision by the European Commission “based purely on ecosystem concerns”. RBB Economics assisted the parties and in this seminar Dan Gore will present the case and explain the economic analysis undertaken. Date: 14 May 2024 Time: From 16:30 Venue: Grand Hotel, Stockholm From more information please email [email protected] #CompetitionLaw #TheoriesOfHarm #MergersAndAquisitions

Within the hospitality industry, various business models such as management agreements, franchise agreements, leases, and owner-operator management exist, each with a specific focus on different aspects of the Profit and Loss (P&L) statement. Regardless of the business model, gaining insights into profitability is crucial for all stakeholders in the hospitality sector. Owners and hotel/management companies can evaluate the effectiveness of their strategies through this data. Investors, on the other hand, can assess the financial viability of projects by analysing profitability in specific markets and historical trends. #ProfitandLoss #ProfitabilityInsights #BusinessModels

Our 7th Business Manifesto has been launched. An incredible document which outlines the 5 main priorities that the Chamber will focus on for 2024, as indicated by our members. Another exciting year ahead for the Chamber - bring on 2024! #tvcc #thamesvalley #chamberofcommerce
On Friday evening, at our Annual Dinner at Windsor Castle, we launched our 7th Business Manifesto. Framed by 5 main priorities, the 2024 Manifesto sets out the issues and challenges faced by the Thames Valley business community and the opportunities that our membership wants us, it's Chamber, to work on and champion. These are - 🗨 Infrastructure network resilience and adoption – promoting the opportunities of the technology and supporting investment that can future-proof our region. At our International Technology Conference at 3M on May 9th 2024 we will aim to prepare the readiness of Thames Valley SMEs for developments and implications of Artificial Intelligence. 📚 Shaping our future skills needs – implementing the next steps of the Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIPs) and shaping the future of the Thames Valley Skills Unit. Our work will continue as we spearhead British Chambers of Commerce (BCCs) national evaluation of the Chamber led Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIP) and promote the merits of new curriculum co-developed between local business and educators. In response to the skills shortages, we will launch new training to support local businesses in their recruitment, retention, upskilling, and workforce development. 🌍 Pathway to net zero (and climate change) – advancing the work around sustainability as outlined in our State of the Region report. 🚢 Trade and Inward Investment – Delivering services that enable high value and volumes of trade and inward investment continues to flow. We will redouble our efforts on behalf of the business community to promote the Thames Valley as a leading international location through a refreshed and focused presence on our website. With new trade consultancy and value-added services, we will continue to champion opportunities for local businesses in key markets and deliver the national BCC hub for the Osaka 2025 World Expo. 📢 Delivering regional leadership, championing the Thames Valley – putting and representing businesses at the heart of stakeholder engagement and political decision making, ensuring they invest in success, and that we promote our wider sector and market strengths. The scope and influence of the Thames Valley Assembly continues to grow as we amplify the voice of our regions key industry sectors, and businesses large and small. We will contribute to the new BCC National Business Council and to the wider development of the UK Accredited Chamber network as the voice of local economies. Strategic Focus on B4 Platinum Sees 6X growth in one year Up until January of this year B4 had enjoyed the support of a small group of Platinum Members who in turn enjoyed priority access to high-quality dinners at wonderful venues including Blenheim Palace, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, Nicholsons and University of Oxford colleges. Since then the focus has been on growing this number to such an extent that there are now fifty three Platinum Members in total, representing 589% growth in under a year. What’s the secret behind such phenomenal growth? “Platinum Membership was always an appealing proposition for many existing B4 Members but, in all honesty, we didn’t have the right package. Following consultation with the B4 Executive Board, we radically transformed the proposition which made all the difference. Not only were we able to attract more Platinum Members but our existing Members felt more comfortable introducing their contacts with more confidence that they were getting a valuable package of benefits and a growing group of like-minded people and organisations to connect with.” Explained B4’s CEO, Richard Rosser. In the true Kenyan spirit of entrepreneurship, a friend of mine is developing a solution to enhance better guest experience for hotels and airlines. To make sure he doesn't miss anything he has created a questionnaire to be filled by the professionals in those fields as they are the ones who know the pain points. It's a 2 minutes survey. Kindly help make this a success by filling the survey 👇 https://lnkd.in/dNwe2caK
