My #Explanations #underscore the point that while good #forestry #legislation is necessary, it is obviously not sufficient. The laws in many countries lie unused or underused for reasons like failure of political will, weak #institutions, or even general disregard for the rule of law. I have filed #multiple #appeals and have a few senate and congressional heads to show the #consequences to the voters and public of obstruction behavior by our state and federal governments not respecting scientific evidence or facts ! The #lobbyists and other #enforcement mechanisms in our public interest must be modernized, traditional U.S. #constitutional #interpretation of #law has stymied or undermined scientific based #legislative #processes. Not listening to the #scientific #community or the experts in their respective fields of knowledge and understanding. The #evidence is this is overwhelming based a combination of #republican supported #bills. The #environmental #law #firms and #environmental #attorneys in each state also are working on multiple undecided cases that our #supreme #court’s not #hearing yet ? This is what constitutes #unconstitutional #hypocrisy !

The Land Matrix is an independent, open-access online database that monitors and records large-scale land deals globally. The initiative was launched as a collaborative effort between various organizations, including the International Land Coalition, the Centre for Development and Environment, and the French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development. It aims to address the need for accurate information about land acquisitions that often remain hidden from public scrutiny. Through its comprehensive database, the Land Matrix captures details of transactions that involve large tracts of land, documenting the parties involved, the purpose of the acquisition, and the land area affected. By providing an accessible repository of information, the platform allows governments, researchers, NGOs, and the general public to examine land deals and their impact on local communities and ecosystems. Why is Transparency in Land Deals Important? Large-scale land deals can have wide-reaching implications. On the positive side, they may bring foreign investment, job creation, and infrastructure development to areas in need. However, they can also lead to displacement of local communities, loss of livelihoods, and environmental degradation. In countries where land rights are often informal or weakly defined, LSLAs can threaten the rights and well-being of local populations. Transparency is essential in addressing these issues. By making land deals publicly visible, the Land Matrix helps ensure that affected communities and stakeholders can access information about decisions that impact their lives. This increased transparency can deter exploitative practices, encourage more responsible investment, and enable policymakers to make informed decisions that protect vulnerable populations. I began my career with NRCS in the middle of Covid, as an entry-level Soil Conservationist in Gainesville, TX. I then served as a District Conservationist, managing a field office in Clarendon, TX. Shortly thereafter, I landed my DREAM JOB as an Area Rangeland Management Specialist/Grazing Specialist, covering the High Plains region of Texas and serving as a liaison to the Texas Grazing Lands Coalition. That’s when the sparks started to fly for me! I found my passion in educating others about regenerative agriculture and adaptive management, hosting events and workshops to give folks the opportunity to get out on the landscape, ask questions, and see with their own eyes what was possible in their part of the world. My love is grass and cows, but my true passion is people - land stewards, to be exact! In my current role, I work for a non-profit organization with the goal of keeping working lands whole and healthy! My specific role positions me as a resource to producers, developing partnerships and collaborating broadly across the west to produce helpful tools and facilitate productive conversations around working lands & specific producer needs.
